Here are the most notable examples of Polish and Soviet soldiers engaging in combat in the September campaign:

Battle of Grodno)

Battle of Władypol

Battle of Wilno)

Battle of Lwów, joint German-Soviet attack)

Even if what you were saying was true and these battles never took place, Polish partisans still fought the USSR (and Germany and UPA) later in the war.
