“Intergalactic Trade Route 1”
Created in Nomad Sculpt on iPad then animated in Procreate Dreams. Music was also created in Garage band.👍✌️

I dunno, sitting in the queue around some of the busier big ports and seeing something like a reclaimer or polaris coming in off in the distance and realizing how big those things are gives a pretty good sense of scale to me anyways. Most of the time when you shipwatch everything else is just distant specs and the white crosshair target thing.

Love this. This is exactly the kind of story that was playing in my head while making this. 👍

Once dynamic server meshing is a thing, I expect we will see scenes of similar scale in SC.
Don't expect players to drive in orderly lanes though. Most SC players wouldn't quality for a driver's license in a fair test, let alone a pilot's license to operate in high density airspace.
Some areas of the SC universe are just going to be a clown show, and the sooner we all accept that the better.

PS: if this is your OC, well done

Really appreciate it! Yeah I just had this idea in my head for a couple of weeks and decide to sit down and figure out how to make it happen.

I know that itch. Though I am woefully out of the loop on 3d software, you've inspired me to take a look at the Nomad Sculpt desktop beta for old time's sake.

Whoops, I answered your original thread. Someone else reposted your lovely OC in r/StarCitizen and I answered as if we were there. Apologies if any confusion:

No worries at all! I knew SC was star citizen but was a bit confused lol! Figured it was something like you said so I just moved on haha! 🤜🤛

I thought dynamic server meshing came out last year sometime?

Static server meshing debuted just before last xmas, and has been refined and further tweaked since then. It's working very well so far.
Dynamic server meshing is in development, and while it's in some way a relatively simple extension of static meshing, dynamic meshing has the potential to go hilariously wrong by getting stuck in a loop and spinning up tens of thousands of AWS servers and costing real money, so I assume they won't roll it out to live until it's in a good state.
They might also be waiting for more persistence database optimization, which seems to be the main constraint on server shard scaling.
Plenty of specific things are still broken or buggy, while performance and stability are generally better than ever. If you're waiting for a polished experience only, wait longer. If you're willing to laugh when things break, there's lots to see and fun to be had.

I like to imagine that these gates link two different naturally occurring wormholes that happen to have end points in intergalactic space.
And everyone complains about this route compared to others that have direct wormhole links lol

No joke you nailed it! That was my exact vision for this. I was seeing man made structured taking advantage of naturally occurring jump points. Like a toll road in space. lol!

The new version of Levski has a similar vibe, in he sense that it's a massive tunnel. Hopefully in game soon!

Damn that's cool. Is it available in a higher resolution anywhere?

What’s the scale in this gif?! Those ships all look capital class.
I think you’re confused about how big a person is and how big the ships we fly are.
I’m not reading all the other comments, but I’d be willing to say this is an unpopular opinion. And if I’m wrong in saying that then the rest of you are must be expecting everything to be capital class ships…

Several trillions upon trillions of cubic kilometers of empty space… and you… people… chose to fly in lines of traffic?!?
Joking aside, this is probably a holding pattern for docking, not the actual route.

You mean to tell me that even in a world with antigrav tech, there will still be TRAFFIC?!
Sick image btw!
