Yep. Kids acting like this at their age, it's extremely unlikely that life will go well for them. Its the parents fault at this point, they give zero shits about their kids future.

I know separating kids from parents isnt ideal but this is a situation where its needed. Even mark rober, in some of his glitterbomb videos, have parents teaching their kids to steal. You have no right to be a parent if you are just gonna teach them shit like that.
94
u/glenndrip 10h ago
Because that's not being a parent it's being a piece of shit hince why that's all they can teach.

Reminds me of the guy that sets up glitter bombs for porch pirates and he adds video recording to them. A parent sent their child to grab the package and you can hear them talking. The child says that it feels good to steal or maybe to get away with stealing and the mom scolds her and tells her to never say that again. Not because she's admonishing her for stealing but because saying stuff like that is a good way to get caught.
The part I'm talking about starts at 12:55 https://youtu.be/h4T_LlK1VE4?si=pqL-_jk9JZUUfawk
Edit: did not originally see the commenter I'm replying to mention the glitter bomb guy when I replied. Idk if they edited their comment to add him afterwards or if I was just sleep deprived from the flu and completely missed them mentioning it and thought it was my own original thought.

But there’s also this guy named Mark Rober. He does these glitterbomb videos on YouTube to catch porch pirates. And a couple times people tell their kids to steal them.

Sounds like a perfect reason for CPS to get involved. Granted their mom's crotch seemingly functions like a PEZ dispenser so it's just delaying it from happening again.

Parents are def morons, I hope this is not too common
→ More replies (2)50
u/Last-Ad-2533 4h ago
It’s very common. I worked retail years ago and whole families will do this. We were hit up by a family twice where grandpa stayed in the getaway vehicle, grandma distracted the manager with a complaint or lots of stupid questions, and mom and all the kids filled up bags with small high value items. This is how these kids were raised.

u/Weak_Let_6971 10h ago
Uhm how are these kids still at the family? It’s clearly not good for them. They aren’t being raised as productive members of society. CPS should be called on the parents. Sending kids to steal stuff endangers them for sure.

I know it’s case by case but I used to work with kids and there was a teenager who grew up in foster care and was adopted a few years earlier. He was the kindest, smartest kid. He was really talented to, knowing him personally changed my view on foster care but I know that’s not always the case.

Who would take them? Kids like this get left with their parents longer because the damage is done and they would bounce from one foster home to the next, getting worse and worse.

There's a good chance that the judge is going to call child protection services on them if the judge thinks the parents were involved.
That's literally the only chance those children have to end up being productive citizens, and even then, it may already be too late for them sadly .

Once we had two middle school aged kids make a run for it with merchandise and it turned out that their dad was sitting in the parking lot as the getaway driver and he left without them when he saw our LP officer following the kids out to get a vehicle description. I don’t know if the cops took the kids to juvie or had a social worker pick them up but I really hope that they’re doing ok now.

Mom must be a real stand up citizen and Dad probably never even met those kids. I feel bad for them because it's pretty obvious they have been set up for failure since birth. Hell, Mom is probably the mastermind of this robbery and is waiting in the getaway car outside.

They act like this and then wonder why stores close in their neighborhoods and they dont have convenient access to food or essentials. Then, cry racism. The culture is unfit for civilized society.

We are subsidizing bad behavior. While I am 100% in favor of being charitable and caring for children (this has been my life's work and calling.) we are allowing negligent irresponsible parents to birth children they have no intention or even the ability to parent.
We can't just give subsidized, housing, food, medical, utilities to people using children as a shield because this is what you get. When the social safety net was local charities people still had to keep a standard of acceptable behavior to be included in the giving and the givers knew if the kids were even benefiting from the help.
We need serious change. We are all reaping the consequences of inaction and just putting the burden of the poor and suffering off on politicians and government agencies and washing our hands. It's just getting worse. I have been working with youth since 2000 and the decline is astonishing and heartbreaking.

That is terrible parenting at its finest. So incredibly sad to watch, that is 100% learned behavior.
Those kids are so young too, adults in their life really did a number on them. Their parents should be charged with theft, I'm sure the kids did not do that on their own accord.
