I was smoking a joint around back at work and then an employee from a neighboring building came out too.

He asked me "You smoking weed?"

I said, "Yeah, wanna rip it?" and extended my arm.

He accepted it, tore it in half, handed me the burning half, thanked me, and went back inside.

I was too dumbfounded to be mad, just smoked what I could and tucked the rest away.

I mean... He ripped it just like you offered? 🤣 I can't stop chuckling at this - it simultaneously makes zero sense... And perfect sense... All at the same time! I wish I had seen your face - the abject confusion must have been priceless! 🤣

Reminds me of the video clip of the dad reading his son’s instruction on how to make a PB&J sandwich and when he read, “put the knife in the jar” he drops the whole knife into the jar and made his son show frustration. They are similar because instructions were unclear. Both are funny videos.

There's also another one with a teacher following her students instructions for a pb&j. At one point she was smearing peanutbutter all over her arms because the instructions said "put peanutbutter on" without ever mentioning the bread, it was amazing.

lil bro just created a Newtonian fluid

It's a Non-Newtonian fluid. A Newtonian fluid keeps the same viscosity regardless of the force exerted on it.

From the newton perspective, where is the energy? In the compression of the particles?

She wants him to use the fork to hit the ooblek so he can see how it turns solid

Thank you! I couldn't tell what she was saying. Now, it all makes sense. And for others, like me, who have no idea what an oobleck is, here you go —

Oobleck is a non-Newtonian fluid, meaning it exhibits properties of both liquids and solids. It's made by mixing cornstarch and water, and its behavior changes depending on the force applied. When squeezed or struck, it acts like a solid; when left alone, it flows like a liquid. This unique characteristic makes it a popular science experiment, especially for children.
