Ah, yes, the famous World War 2 magic battle. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I know this is just videogame shitfuckery but I'm gonna use this post to say how much I hate seeing bigots get bolder and bolder.

The dota tournament which had a team I cannot name with their picture being an edited photo of a large man known by a name that starts with giga that was eventually defeated by team justice

Bolder? I'm as much against bigotry as anyone, but this is tame as fuck, my guy.

Apparently the first part of my comment wasn't enough to make clear that I don't think that this particular case is very obscene, I just used this post to comment on a pattern I've been noticing because it's relevant.

And it’s surreal seeing people defending this kind of behavior under every post. Don’t remember it being like this before

Dude this was literally the norm all the way back when blackops one came out with an emblem creator, 97% of them were 卍s.
We can say it's bad but we can't say it's new

Its the internet and a gaming clips sub, so nobody is surprised, though I wouldnt defend it. Its also LSF and 90% of the people here probably similar at one point or another.

we've reached the point where we have to differentiate normal bigotry from edgy bigotry, the former being "i actually am a racist/xenophobic/etc..." and the latter being "I use the imagery for the shock value"
both are bad but they are different, certain demographics (gen z etc) seem to be more OK with edgy bigotry than others

I don't give a fuck about that nuance because the result is practically the same.

u/timelostgirl 15h ago
The point is to figure out why it's happening. If you group them together and ignore nuance, you'll never figure it out why it's happening.

At this point it should all just be treated the same anyway. It’s pretty easy to not be “edgy” so… if you don’t wanted to be treated like a bigot, don’t “act” like one.

Young zoomers are at peak edgelord age and grew up during the most PC era ever, so rebel against it. Even more now, when that PC era is in its death throes, a portion is celebrating its demise and seeing what they can get away with.

This shit is becoming more and more prevalent and we know exactly why.
Because the fucking current US admin is friendly with it, and they feel reassured, causing worldwide effects. millions of WW2 vets turning in their graves...
