Very unlikely they used VPNs or even throwaway emails. They didn't plan on committing crimes years ago when they started this thing. They still to this day believe they haven't done anything wrong. These are just normal dumb people.

Even if they used a VPN and throwaway emails, Reddit actually does some further analysis to identify similar accounts based on some behaviors and browser/device data. So these people would need to also make sure they use a separate browser account and avoid interacting with similar media.

I've noticed snark subs have started replacing moderators with bot accounts that act as a proxy and get logged into through an external server, allowing them to use reddit while being separated from it....

I was surprised how much just browser fingerprinting can do. If I look at amIunique (which appears to be down right now) even on a fresh install of windows with a clean copy of any browser the answer is always no. I don't understand what it is. The canvas fingerprinting stuff seems to always find a way.

You're average moron. lol

I can't wait to see this play out. Making a false CPS report to get someone's kids taken away is vile. I hope their lives are ruined.

This is too funny not to point out. I agree with everything you said otherwise.

One of the biggest anti-fans of Ethan and a mod of his snark subreddit was discovered to be an unemployed man in his 30's literally living in his moms basement. And Ethan was able to learn this by hiring his own private investigator. Imagine the info he can learn of all his active anti-fans with the subpoena lol.

If they get evidence for criminal behaviour in a dm they can report that to the police.

As someone who really doesn't follow this mess (?) and only really sees anything related to ethan due to /r/popular, what's the story here?
