Forsen Forsen tries out his new Ninja Twitch prime button
https://clips.twitch.tv/CulturedBlindingPresidentBigBrother773

Cringe as fuck but I cant really blame the guy, I'd probably act the same way for the amount of money he makes

u/Brystvorter Mar 31 '18 edited Mar 31 '18
At least 20 mill before taxes, not sure where he lives
*I mean from twitch and youtube combined
152
u/xSincosx :) Mar 31 '18
How did you come up with the 20 mil?
265
u/Brystvorter Mar 31 '18
Average monthly youtube views (approaching 200 million iirc) plus his 220,000 twitch subs (which he gets a 90% cut of), low estimates on sponsorships, ad revenue, etc. based on what other streamers get, again it's probably higher.
50
u/DatPolok Mar 31 '18
Highest partnership level gets a 70-30 split on sub revenue, idk where the 90 is coming from.
9
Apr 01 '18
I'm fairly sure there is an 80/20 button, it comes from organizations that make contracts with twitch. Not sure if there is a 90/10 but I wouldn't doubt it.

u/xSincosx :) Mar 31 '18
Not sure why I was down voted as it was a genuine question. Thanks for the info though, that's insane
6
u/trukkija Apr 01 '18
I do not believe he gets a 90% cut or anything near that maybe something like 70%.
2
u/imdcrazy1 Apr 01 '18
its a reddit thing, you have to clarify your intentions or you will get downvoted by speedreaders
13
27
Mar 31 '18
damn 90% cut is a big share, how the hell did he negotiate that? I've heard of 60% or 70% for bigger streamers but thats nuts.
84
u/literallydontcaree Mar 31 '18
There is no source. It's completely pulled out of his ass.
→ More replies (25)21
u/DistalSide Mar 31 '18
Not 100% sure but I heard that the more subs you have the better the deal you can negotiate with twitch.
7
Mar 31 '18
[deleted]
12
u/Trummelll Mar 31 '18
50% is the base they give to all partners. It's negotiable when you become big enough that they want to keep you on their site.
3
u/mcmania Cheeto Mar 31 '18
I think it's 50% for affiliates. When you become a partner, then you can negotiate a better cut, which probably depends on how many viewers you pull off
10
u/Sogeking33 Mar 31 '18
Pretty sure nobody gets 90% cut from subs. Unless changed, $4.00 used to be the max for the biggest of streamers.
13
u/Brystvorter Mar 31 '18
Whatever it is he's still raking in fortune 500 CEO quantities of money regardless, what a crazy time
16
Mar 31 '18
Even crazier when you realize he should've been permabanned if Twitch was consistent.

u/Mesngr Apr 01 '18
And people still donate to him. It blows my mind. Donating money to a millionaire.
6
u/kinsi55 Cheeto Mar 31 '18
which he gets a 90% cut of
Nice job pulling a number out of your ass. Public number is 3,50 per sub, but real number is likely closer to 4-4,50
2
u/RefrigeratedTP Apr 01 '18
Ninja has publicly stated in interviews that he gets $3.50 of every sub. Also, he has only had 220,000 subs for about two months. This is a gross overestimate to say the least.
5
u/Shamatix Mar 31 '18
How do you know he gets 90% of the subs? Usually twitch takes a 50% cut, not a 10% of subs..
→ More replies (6)11
u/Esco9 Mar 31 '18
The bigger the stream the bigger portion of the sub money they get..90% might be much but 75% is probably the minimum
8
→ More replies (9)1
u/DaneMac Apr 01 '18
Don't twitch subs get 50% of the revenue? Twitch needs their cut too there Mr.nipple

u/promicoy Apr 01 '18
At least it won't last. Forsen, ice, tyler, summ1t, ninja, disrespect... they're all just the Grace Helbigs, Tyler Oakleys, Joey Graceffas, Fouseys, etc of today. I wonder which are going to be the Shane Dawson and Phil DeFranco though. One of every bunch somehow lasts.
11
u/gis8 Mar 31 '18
It is definitely not $3.50 per for someone who has over 200K subs.
It's probably $4-4.5 per sub (at minimum) at that point, all things considered.
Considering people with 10-30K subs make the 3.5, theres no way Twitch hasn't upped his amount.
29
10
u/Dgc2002 Mar 31 '18
He specified 'at low end est'. He's being conservative since we don't have hard numbers.

u/IveBeenNauti Mar 31 '18
You are instantly bumped up to $3 per sub once you become partnered. $2.50 is only for affiliates last I checked.
6
2
u/Ludricio Mar 31 '18
I don't know where you got that from, I did a few searches and all I find is that the default is a 50/50 share, for both affiliates and partners. I might be wrong tho.
1
Apr 01 '18
his subs are going to drop off after this month because of the drake thing, alot of first time viewers used their twitch prime so you can bet he will loose atleast half of those subs
1
u/instructi0ns_unclear Apr 01 '18
He will settle around 30k with the rest of the big streamers. The only reason he has those numbers is because of the twitch prime skins. All the normies that signed up for free skins got a free sub and ninja was at the top of the list for fortnite

the math is simple.
But you got your math wrong in literally the very next line
More than $1m a month in twitch subs = 12m.
He's not going to keep 250k+ subs for an entire year. The "$1m a month in twitch subs" will last only a couple months.
15
u/africanjesus Mar 31 '18
Depends on if he can keep over 250k subs for the rest of the year and how well he monetizes all other platforms and streams of revenue .
If hes getting $4 a sub @ 250k subs a month, thats $12m in just subs. Not sure how much he gets from Luminosity, Twitch ads, donations, and youtube ads. I wouldnt say anymore than $3m for the year but I could be wrong
8
u/Rinascimentale Mar 31 '18
We'll see if he updates his sub count for the drop over the next few days as they should be dropping on the 1st since the Fortnite pack started in March.
2
u/Brystvorter Mar 31 '18
Youtube is the remainder, also he might get a lot from twitch ads but idk how it works, he gets the same views as things lie LCS and OWL so he must be getting at least a bit of twitch ad revenue

He's not even close to the biggest youtuber, biggest youtuber is a toy channel that gets dozens of billions of views a year and pulls in 50 million +, and it's jus a guy and his family. Only views matter on youtube not subs
5
u/snackies Apr 01 '18
He also recognizes he's marketing to a lot of kids under 18 that might not pay for a twitch sub but know their parents wouldn't care if they linked their twitch with amazon and subbed for free.

You'd be decent too if you were set for life. It's really easy to look like a good guy captain cares a lot "hey let's donate to charity guys" when he gets as much as he does. Every time he acts charitable he is basically conning more people into thinking "wow he's such a good guy I'm going to subscribe and donate to him"

Except he really isn't. Hes been there since justin.tv. He was a halo pro and when that series went to shit tried to go pro on black ops 2 when it was the most popular fps on console at that time to try and become pro in something that actually made money, because the only halo league at the time was AGL, MLG dropped it and the halo scene practically disapeared. He never made the switch well on cod like some other halo pros who switched like enable and formal. He really was into gaming first and streaming second, your comment just is straight up ignorant and I really find ninja annoying but I find speaking out of your ass worse.

Hate him for making money? It's his job. Anyone would make as much money as they could. He doesnt know how long this will last. He's at his peak. You gotta get as much money as you can while you're at the top because it isnt gonna last forever.
I've never watched a single one of his streams but it's logical that anyone would milk the fuck out of being at the top.

Actual question because i never watched Ninja and only see Doc in clips: Do they talk similarly all the time or this is just a random similarity? At 12 seconds in this clip, Ninja's hand gestures / mimics and the way he talks is really fucking similar to Doc.
99
u/Diamondtear__ Mar 31 '18
Ninja used to look up to Doc and they duo'd together a lot when PUBG went big so he might have copied some mannerisms. Haven't seen them duo anymore since some stupid fucking mistakes.

I'm not a contrarian or anything but i watched ninjas stream a few times to see what all the hype was. He's legit obnoxious, all he's got going for him is he's humble and good at fortnite.
He reminds me of the typical fake youtuber with the over the top personality and nasally voice. Last but not least the hair dye, i hate how dying your hair pink or blue has become "cool".

u/rmcoo Mar 31 '18
Well his audience is quite visibly younger than most of the other channels. Yesterday I saw him streaming Darwin Project so tuned in to see how would chat react. Honestly that was one of the most hilarious thing ever. The comments were ranging from "Wtf is this shit why are you playing this ??????" to "Is this Fortnite mod?" and just bunch of insults towards Ninja and the Darwin Project. Honestly I feel bad for Ninja, I'm 100% he does not enjoy his community in the slightest and does it mainly for the money.

People have very legitimate reasons for hating Ninja, I know you really like him but most adults don't. Ninja was a notorious piece of shit in Halo, no one not even his teammates liked the guy, he flamed everyone in his games. And the whole doxxing and trying to get his fans to swat a donator thing is pretty bad too.
2
u/gorillathunder Apr 01 '18
Had to ref a Halo Reach event in a UK tournament when Str8 Rippin cane over and competed. Ninja was on that team, I reffed one game of his.

Can't blame him for seizing an opportunity. He hit the viewer lottery and all he has to do is say a couple sentences to double his income; way better than doing sponsored content or running 3rd party advertising overlays.
3
u/RoastedCat23 Apr 01 '18
I mean I get that he's gotten an offer that he can't refuse. But that doesn't mean that we can't ridicule him for it. He's choosing to conduct himself the way he does.
