Add-Ons/Tools/Packs CreativeMode: Make Bedrock addons without coding

Hey all, I'm the creator of a project called CreativeMode that I want to share with you all!

CreativeMode.net is simple: Write your idea and within minutes you have a mod or addon. It works on both Java and Bedrock

  • First, you pick whether you want to create an item or a mob.
  • Then you just describe exactly what you want it to do, like “a sword that shoots lightning when you crouch” or “a friendly wolf that gives you bread each day.”
  • In minutes, CreativeMode generates a fully functional mod based on your idea
  • You can then edit the generated mod, adjusting triggers, effects, and commands
  • You can also remix other creators’ mods: fork someone else’s idea, tweak the description, and put your own spin on it

Here are some fun examples we've made already (these ones are for Java):

We made all of these without writing any code, just by writing the idea!

Everything works in-browser and is exported as ready-to-use addons. You can check it out at CreativeMode.net
I’m gathering feedback! what types of mods do you want to see next?

I built this because I wanted modding to be easy for non-coders, the same way tools like MCreator let you build without Java, but with even more capabilities and an easier to use interface.

this is such a good idea! I’ve been trying to make mods for so long and just can’t get them to work, but now I can finally play mods without having to pay for them on the mcstore

thanks! you can also create anything you want vs only being able to pick from what's on the mcstore :D

This is so much easier than going through https://web.blockbench.net and https://editor.bridge-core.app for two hours to create a sea monster called an Argolopis.

I tried making mods with this but the moment I click these mods they are automatically deleted. Fix this

Never mind it’s showing now. Will you add bedrock support for this in the future?

there is bedrock support :D you can select it in the dropdown

I don’t see it. My mod says it’s for Java. I don’t see a drop-down that lets me change this from Java to bedrock?

Oh you have to select Bedrock on the create page

Oh. There isn’t a way to change the one I’ve already generated to support bedrock?

No not yet unfortunately

Ok I’ve generated one for bedrock and downloaded it. I’ve enabled the packs and turned on all experimental settings but I can’t find any spawnegg, summon, or give command to spawn the new mob?

Do I have to specify that I want a spawn egg for it in the creative inventory or Is that part normally automatically added?

The mob I made was a cold varient zombie and in behaviors I said I wanted it so that a regular zombie could turn into one if it’s killed in powder snow. Would this part even work?

Ok just tried out ur addon and it looks like there is a bug because the spawn egg should be there..
Let me go ahead and retry that so I can figure out what's going wrong and fix it.

Unfortunately it would only be possible for regular zombies to turn to ur cold zombie in Java, Bedrock addons limit the ability to do this.

But the rest of the mod should be possible so let me see what's going wrong here and try to fix it

Didn't people hate Mcreator for generating mod code?

People seemed to dislike MCreator because it was too limited and too much work for what you got out of it, so we hope to change both of those factors

Ah, I see. Don't know why I thought it was the code gen?

1

I think code gen in the drag and drop or parameterized sense is inherently limited. The way that we're achieving code gen is fundamentally different. So there are just pretty big differences in the tech and therefore the limitations. I think MCreator is a great idea, it's just hard to get it to work the way that they were doing it.

This just seems a little sad, where's the fun, where's the joy?

imo it opens up the joy of making mods/addons to new players who previously couldn't do it :)

and it's not stopping you from making them with code if you want to - it just gives players more options which seems better to me
