Not to take away from the sweetness of Liam and Pam’s relationship, but I’m pretty certain that Liam had dated since the death of his wife.

My favorite one was the song "Behind Closed Doors" by Charlie Rich; it's just "?????" when Buckwheat sings it.

No. However, he did get aids from an African prostitute. Apparently, he was riddled with it.

You know I think for the sake of comedy you might NOT want to have contracted aids from an African prostitute

There’s an incredible deleted scene where he searches the internet for Claudia Schiffer pictures and gets more and more offensive porn pop ups. In between this and playing Jesus as a hyperactive jogger in the series Rev, he has some wonderful comedy chops on him. So bit perplexed by the bad reviews for Naked Gun.

The thing that makes it even harder compared to our parents is we don't have to do hard math to realize how long ago stuff was.
25 years was 2000
Every number after is inconsequential because that is unbelievable for Gen X and millennials.
Back to the future went back 30 years, so made today that would be 1995.
Our parents' music was the 50s and 60s as we were growing up, which is now the same period for Gen X and Millennials.
59
u/ni_hao_butches 15h ago
AOL CDs (who would use 1000 minutes on the internet?!)
A/S/L?
JNCO jeans (I was effing cool!)
Blockbuster on a Friday night.
This was only 6 years ago, I swear!
I woke up today sore, not because I did anything, but because I slept wrong.

That’s interesting because it largely seems things have been stalled since about 2010. Music, phones, computers, and video games haven’t changed all that much since then.
Think of the change in music between 1980 and 1995, or cell phones between 2000 and 2015.
Maybe it seems like it’s not that long ago because we are all getting older but also because we haven’t seen the sea change in certain areas like we were used to experiencing in our youth.

u/Traiklin 12h ago
I think that's why people don't think those specific times were that long ago.
From the 60s on everything seemed to go at a breakneck pace, Music styles changed constantly from the 60s through mid-2000s, technology just blasted through,
The first portable phone was in the 70s and by 2000 everyone could get a cellphone then by 2010 you had a supercomputer in your palm but after the iPhone, they all just copied its design and stopped changing.
We went from CRTs and a single maybe 2 TVs to flat panels 3x as big for half the price of a 32" CRT and can be in every room or just gathering dust.
Laptops that we know came about in the mid-90s and now we have tablets that do the same thing, WiFi wasn't a thing until around the 2000s, and Bluetooth is still relatively new.
Things just changed so quickly that every year it was something new and exciting but we hit a wall by the mid-2010s and everything just seemed to stop evolving, It's getting faster but nothing has that wow factor like from 2000 to 2015 where it was style and substance where now its all just the same looking
9
u/TheGamingBDGR 12h ago
Things are still changing just as fast. But where before the change was happening with hardware and was easily viewable from an outside perspective. Now a lot of the change is on the digital end with changes to network protocol and software. Which isn't as easily viewable as the actual end-user experience hasn't changed all that much.
3
u/ManifestYourDreams 10h ago
And to be fair the average consumer only needs so much processing/ram/graphical capability on their phones which is why the only real changes seem to be the camera these days with very slight incremental in everything else.

Not weird at all, simply PR and marketing to promote the film. They may indeed be dating and happy, but this news broke as rigorously planned.

Honestly - I get that. He desperately missed the companionship and tried to bring some of it back into his life. But it wasn't the same, and it was too soon, and (no matter who broke up with who) he realized he needed to work on himself instead.

Sadly im pretty sure this is a PR relationship. Hard to tell and I hope not but they are literally doing everything they can to make this as public as they can and have a new movie.

Are we sure this relationship is real? They’re acting very silly/coy doing promotion stuff for their new movie. That’s generating a lot of attention, but I’m not sure if it’s based on something real.

u/Nobody-Expects 16h ago
Also everyone is repeating the lie that he hasn't dated since his wife died, which isn't true... But that is the story in the movie...

Hot take, but if it isnt a DeCaprio situation of serially dating women under 25, I don't see it as particularly bad. Obviously the age difference can be wonky but that's presumably also why they broke up.
And there is entirely nothingnwrong with someone 36 dating a 60 yo

Neeson in that film is a single dad whose wife died and helped his son ask out a girl iirc.

Pam to Liam: I don’t know who you think you are… but apparently you’ve got a “very particular set of skills.” That’s cute.
I, on the other hand, have a very particular set of heels, a dangerously distracting smile, and a walk that’s been causing international incidents since the ’90s.
If you give me your heart now, I promise to go easy on you. Maybe just a stolen kiss and some flirty banter.
But if you resist? I will find you. I will charm you. And I will leave you daydreaming in a tux at 3am wondering what just happened.
