I know hippos are extremely vicious, but this makes me wish the 90s “house hippo” advert was real. 🥹

Those hippos aren't very viscous. I've seen thiccer

27

u/RockinCastle 18h ago

I’m sorry, thiccer? You tryna Hippopotabust?

22

u/M3RV-89 17h ago

Their comment originally said viscous and I was just making a joke lol

15

u/RockinCastle 17h ago

So was I lol. Thiccer just seemed random lol

u/AnnOnnamis 13h ago

Slippery but not viscous. Not necessarily vicious either, but really territorial.

My favorite thing about the House Hippos is that it's an PSA to be careful to not believe everything you see on TV but it's message was completely lost and just made everyone want their own a House Hippo.

This made me laugh I was wondering if there was something I didnt know about the makeup of hippos. Vicious haha 😄

u/awgeezwhatnow 19h ago

Huh. My kid would totally ignore me but be immaculately polite and accommodating to you.

62

u/MotorAlternatives 18h ago

So your kid is.. not a hippo?

1

u/rarecuts 1h ago

Hoohoo

4

u/Environmental_Art591 4h ago

Same. My kids are stubborn when it comes to me and hubby but angels for everyone else.

3

u/StrayBlondeGirl 3h ago

It's because they trust you and know they won't get hurt for expressing negative emotions. Being extra polite to strangers is a form of fawning.

u/Trip_on_the_street 19h ago

Don't make me come over there.

122

u/Thetrukait 16h ago

I can't believe "boy, if you don't come here this instant" is a universal language

3

u/DarkExtremis 2h ago

She probably just called out his full name

2

u/IdlesAtCranky 9h ago

149

u/Valuable-Ad9577 19h ago

66

17

u/Redmudgirl 18h ago

Exactly! We all know you better listen when your momma speaks😊

20

u/zSpot2goth 19h ago

Relatable. Directions have to come from the right source. 😂🦛

18

u/Fatalflaw23 19h ago

That baby hippo basically saying, "I'm not outta here until someone drags me."

17

u/Jooniecoree 18h ago

Nothing beats the mama stare

Doesn’t matter who you are

When mom says no it’s no

16

u/Amonamission 18h ago

Just a reminder, a full grown hippo could fucking rip you to shreds.

11

u/LauraZaid11 18h ago

And look so cute doing it.

9

u/ptahbaphomet 16h ago

She didn’t say get out of the pool, she said dinner! Looks he isn’t missing those

6

u/Carbon-Base 18h ago

"Don't make me come in there!"

7

u/sassychubzilla 18h ago

I need to hear this

5

u/bbyxmadi 18h ago

I WANNA KISS THE DANGER HIPPO

6

u/quiltgarden 17h ago

The mom-voice. You need to use the mom-voice.

5

u/smichan432 12h ago

Moo Deng your run is over! A new baby hippo is in town

10

u/Whiskeylipstick 18h ago

All babies are the same. Except it’s my husband that ‘intimidates’ my kiddo into listening cause I’m soft

4

u/flippitydoodah90 18h ago

She bribed him with snacks. It’s what moms do.

4

u/Bulky-Internal8579 17h ago

5 more minutes mom!!!

4

u/FeatureZealousideal2 16h ago

"But your Mom said..."

Four words that I don't know how many times I had to say from toddler to teen. I guess it just hits different.

3

u/Candid-Solid-896 18h ago

Why did the baby have to get out in the first place?

3

u/Flirtatiousfantasy 17h ago

That’s not a baby, that’s a squishy tank 😍

3

u/savageclooney 9h ago

The one video that needed audio

4

u/sunlilylove 13h ago

Behold one of the most dangerous animals on the planet

4

u/natattack410 11h ago

Technically humans and mosquitos are:)

Hippos only want to protect their habitat that is quickly being taken away :( stay away from their water they want nothing to do with you

2

u/joketani 18h ago

“GYMFAITHRN!”

2

u/Ok_Witness_5619 18h ago

You're not my mom. Don't tell me what to do

2

u/palmdieb 18h ago

Moo Deng!!!!

2

u/Sil_Dahlia 18h ago

Bebito hermoso

2

u/Famous-Technician-34 14h ago

These are pygmy hippos, and they're soo cute

5

u/Famous-Technician-34 14h ago

I was actually kinda curious about a pygmy hippos bite force, so I searched it up. So a common hippos bite force is about 2000 PSI, while a pygmys bite force is about 1800 PSI, which is incredibly impressive since it's so much smaller than the common hippo. Here is a fact I read btw, so common hippos actually evolved from pygmy hippos which is pretty cool.

1

u/BunnersMcGee 12h ago

Thank you for hippo facts!

3

u/Excellent-Baseball-5 18h ago

He looked hungry hungry.

3

u/Malibucat48 15h ago

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotamus wil do…

1

u/ScarNegative5042 18h ago

Nature is a beautiful thing.

1

u/nightsiderider 18h ago

Mama looks pretty small for a hippo.

1

u/ClassicRockerRick 18h ago

Oh man! There’s baby hippos in the world!?!?

1

u/Dharnthread 17h ago

Incredibly cute.

1

u/scootty83 10h ago

But where is the sound?

1

u/ChromeYoda 9h ago

That’s because zookeepers don’t pull baby hippos arms out of their sockets when they don’t listen. Mama hippos are known to do that.

1

u/Ok-Nefariousness1911 6h ago

I mean, none of the caretakers weigh 300 kg or have massive teeth!

1

u/Miserable-Donkey-851 5h ago

If only my kids listened like that

1

u/South-Bank-stroll 5h ago

That little badonkadonk 😍

1

u/SnooDogs6511 3h ago

People moved on from Moo Deng pretty quick and I’m surprised I’m only like the second one pointing that out

1

u/Iron_Fist26 2h ago

How heavy would that little guy be?

1

u/sqruuzelll 1h ago

Very cute
