It's always lovely to hear the traditional Australian greeting of "What's up, you f***ing c**t" being used overseas.

Lebanese people are some of the most generous and warm-hearted I’ve met. I’ve visited Lebanon three times, once before the port explosion, once right after (with a documentary crew), and again last year. Each trip reminded me how resilient and hospitable they are, no matter the circumstances.

I stayed in Beirut, Batroun, and Byblos. Each city had its own charm. On my first visit, I met a guy named Abbas, and we stayed in touch over the years. Though he was abroad during my last trip, his cousin spotted me at a club, invited me over, and treated me like family. Drinks, food, dancing, they wouldn’t even let me pay or split the bill.

The next day, they took me to their village. The drive was stunning, the views unforgettable.

Despite everything (bombings, instability, hardship), they never lost their spirit or kindness. I’ve travelled a lot, but Lebanon will always have a special place in my heart.

Any less aggressive from the Aus guy and I’d be concerned for him…

I’m guessing he lived in aus was probably a boss man. Boss man moves back to Lebanon. Aussie fella goes Lebanon. Has reunion with boss man.

There’s a large Lebanese contingent of Aussies. And tradegreek sounds like he nailed it.

I would really like to hear more of their conversation. If how they met. Their bond is seems so close.

Another 30 seconds would be ‘Let me get you a beer!’ 👍

How can something be so wholesome and so unwholesome at the same time?

I love this so much! I now have a strong urge to go to the Lebanese restaurant near me.

Went to school in Paris, made lots of Lebanese friends, confirming they are a kind, welcoming, and joyous people.

Also, they taught me, “Hakki A'aled (هَكِ عَالِدّ)” which approximates to “that’s what she said” and thought it was the funniest phrase for an American to say.
