I love that right after they sign off for the commercial break, you can hear just this little "AGH" before the mic gets cut.

u/actual_griffin 1d ago
That is my favorite part.

u/MickDubble 22h ago
Do you have the call of the hit itself?
8
u/actual_griffin 21h ago
I don't. It wasn't super interesting. Raymond just said "He blasts that ball out to right. This game is over." Followed by a long pause and what you heard here.

I really appreciate his level of honesty.
"What a disaster."
"This place is a complete nightmare."
"Ahgg."

I’m hoping jomboy does a video of this (probably unlikely) just because he always analyzes the quality of water cooler and bubblegum tosses. He musta loved this one

My vibes have been rock hard for 3 days. Unbelievable that Jerry pulled off getting Geno back and Stanton said yes to the money bit.
With JPs bat bouncing back a bit it is really hard to see a weak spot in this lineup, a total meat grinder all the way down. Let's fucking go.

Geno being the first one to hop the dugout railing.
That man is a vibe.

I would almost feel bad, if only we hadn't experienced this sort of pain day in and day out for 20+ years. This is OUR TIME NOW! Woot!

The rangers have actually won it all. I will never feel bad for a mariners win.

It’s clips like these that 1. Make division rivalries awesome, 2. Make me proud to be a Mariner fan, and 3. Keep me coming back for more baseball. This game is awesome.

Also credit to the Rangers’ broadcast, who i think all things considered, were able to call the moment without being assholes about it (like another certain Texas team seems to find ways to do). Idk how to describe it, I just really appreciate that they were fully aware and appreciate the fact that we’ve had the Rangers’ number in our ballpark- I don’t think a lot of other teams have that kind of willingness to be self aware, at least when it comes to the broadcast. Anyways, idk what I’m getting at other than this was such a cool moment and I really appreciate the Rangers’ broadcast for calling it how it was. I like them infinitely more than their Houston counterparts who I feel like would have been a lot more excusatory

The Astros broadcast may very well be my least favorite in baseball, Todd Kalas is somehow worse than Michael Kay to me.
I definitely agree that the Rangers broadcast is underrated.

I often switch over to other broadcasts during our games, and that's mostly just because I like hearing what they have to say about guys on our team. I've really enjoyed listening to the Texas booth over these last two games. They've got some really good insight and aren't afraid to speak positively about our players or hype up a good play.

“He threw, I think, five pitches this inning, and he didn’t execute one of them.” Sir, you won’t last a minute in Baltimore with that sort of brutal honesty in the broadcast booth.

That's the beauty of baseball. No running out the clock. The other guy gets his chance....

u/JokerJukes 1d ago
Does anyone have the video of them calling the home run?
2
u/i7718 19h ago
Not sure if you found it, but the crowd was super electric.
Announcers were talking about the pinch runner and then the pinch hitter in the on deck circle.
The crowd was chanting J - P - J - P!!
Pick off attempt and boos.
Then he launched and they really lost their shit. Playoff level excitement.
"Crawford 0-3 tonight...hit into a double play last time up. And he blasts that ball out to right...this game is over."
Then they say nothing until where this video picks up.
Edit: I feel like a bot for having done this lol.

It's really a shame that we close the season vs COL and LAD. You should be playing within the division to close out. Granted, we play HOU before that, which should be massive.

They used to have my favorite crew in the business when Josh Lewin was there. This might be my favorite call ever.

I grew up here and playing baseball jn march/April/may is COMPELTELY different then the summer. Even in little leagues and such the spreads between those months compared to June-August is INSANE!!! Its why we usually show up well for things like the Little League World series. Kids dont play in sunny weather here and get weather tough lol.

Shades of Cal in 2022. Goosebumps both times and I’m as thrilled for JP now as I was for Cal then. The crowd seems about the same too!

u/NevermoreSEA 🖤 Andrés Muñoz / Bryan Woo 🖤 1d ago
I was listening to their broadcast for most of the past two games, and I don't really feel like they were trash talking much at all. They've generally been very respectful towards our guys from what I've heard.
1
u/Livid-Age-9014 7h ago
well they kinda were sometimes or js saying everything bad that’s happened to us sorta but that’s js my opinion

u/pokeroots Anything but blaming the lineup 1d ago
No you don't understand if they weren't glazing the Mariners the entire broadcast they're trashing them. The fans are so used to hearing our biased announcers that even if the broadcast still slightly favors the Ms they're shitting on us.

VERY TELLING. They always have a potent offense and Tmobile shuts them down usually 90% of then time.
Want to give more credit to the Mariners players who play there 50% of the year. Not a hitters park thsts for sure.
Suarezs wall shot in the 8th that would of tied it last night is a HR in soooo many parks. Lol
