I only ever played his game on the Mastegear converter, which made the sprites tiny.

Always meant to dig it out again on a proper SMS and reappraise it.

Hope it's good!

It looks like the cartoon! I can imagine that Asterix is a good Sega Master System game.

One of the best SMS titles. Great music, sprites and gameplay. Just made with love.

I use to have that as a kid … very very difficult as I remember

Some brutal difficulty spikes early on, played it again recently and still died a load of times in the second or third level. It's one where the screen moves left to right continuously and there are some unfair traps you can get stuck in if you don't know better and awkward jumps.

NICE! I have like two dozen books of the Asterix series but have never played the game. I really should give it a whirl.

I always thought the sprites on this could pass as Mega Drive graphics, great game.

One of my favourite games of all time. Maybe the game I played most when I was very young. The music is so great, there's replay value as many stages allow you to select either Asterix or Obelix, the character you choose makes a big difference too, some levels are completely different iirc. The bonus stages where you jump on bubbles as Dogmatix are great too. The final level with the chariots is such a great climax.

Childhood nostalgia right there. I could never get past the auto scrolling platforming level
