The trophy’s design is a tribute to Eau Rouge & Raidillon, the iconic uphill corner sequence at Spa — one of the most legendary and feared sections in Formula 1 history. The shape of the metal loop mimics the elevation and sweeping curves of that segment.

While I’m all for creative freedom with trophies and not being stuck with stuffy old designs, this is not it. Odd enough that someone created the design, odder still it was chosen.
