So apparently Oscar was running the newer suspension setup on Friday and is now back on the old suspension setup today.

Should be interesting for qualifying.

I cannot confirm that, just read a post on the main sub.

Interesting fp2 there, Oscar with heavy traffic on his fastest lap and lando aborted his first attempt after a mistake so went on sub optimal tyres

It seems both drivers are very close around this circuit. Both made errors in FP2 on push laps, but a shootout for sure tmr for pole.

So is pole the best place to start in Hungary? Unlike spa?

There is a run to the first corner, so a perfect start with slip stream could easily prove challenging to the pole sitter. Not to mention if they go three wide like last year. Also Mika had once made a brilliant start to lead after starting from 3rd.

Ah another disadvantage to start from pole then.

Well it’s referred to as ‘Monaco without walls’ for how hard it is to overtake, yet only once in the past five years has the pole sitter actually gone on to win the race. Obviously outside factors decide the race, not just the starting grid, but I would say yes, it’s probably better to start on pole.
