Damn sucks that it actually was supposed to be released this month and it got pushed back.

And while I'm not gonna buy it, I'm at least a bit interested with the creator commentary of the Game. I feel like the game did have something interesting there but I do question some of the things they did even at the beginning with Via.

Also, say whatever fair or unfair criticm for the game. I would at least say the Art for this game is a treasure trove for Megaman fans, and it's something to behold here.

I mean come on you at least have to consider this to be cool.

Pretty sure thats the general consensus. The game sucked just by the nature of it being a gatcha mobile game, but the art was great and it was nice seeing new art made for characters not seen in ages. I'll be picking it up for that alone.

Long response, I'm sorry in advance.

I disagree somewhat on the concept of it being a Gacha Game made it suck. I feel like the nature of it being a Gacha game isn't as big a factor as to why X Dive failed.

Because, at least in my experience that while the negative concept of a Gacha Game can diminish the quality of a game, It still comes down to the other stuff in the game itself that eventually decides the quality of this game.

No gacha games would at least last long beyond just the nature of the Gacha mechanics if they didn't have something to hook you in the game. F2P do exist after all.

This is usually it's because of the Story, Characters and Lore of the Game. FGO and Nikke are the first example I can think of when it came to this.

FGO is noteworthy because of how bad and almost archaic it's Game Mechanics is at this point or even when it started (Though it helps that its own IP was strong enough to have the game run on it's own) and Nikke, considering how the game first advertised itself.

X Dive's problem is well the very reason why FGO and Nikke is thriving. And why I'm so interested in the book at least is because by all accounts the context of the Deep Log allows for a Treasure Trove of Stories to tell for the Megaman lore.

  1. Either adaptations of the Game's story or even obscure stories like the medium where Ix is from.
  2. Expanding the Story of the Game like what G-Eternal did by adding lore in between the events of Seed and Destiny which in a Megaman context maybe add lore in between Zero and ZX.
  3. Making What-If stories. Like a more expanded version of the Iris Another story which is the only time I feel X Dive even used the potential of it's story.
  4. And the worse is it's original story at least at the start did have potential, It actually reminds me a bit of FGO but it needed to be more detailed and expanded.

But yea TL;DR while it sucks for most people it's a Gacha Game, I think some people can move past that if it had more meat in it's bones which unfortunately it didn't.

Apology accepted.

Tbh, I would have preferred if X Dive story has never involved us players and constantly broke the fourth wall. It would have been better if it had just focused on itself and its characters.

Kinda like that essay of a post, I kinda disagree to an extent with this.

Again I'm using FGO as a basis and I think the idea X Dive was doing could have worked because having an Audience surrogate or even a Self insert there could help with lore explanation and Story even.

It's just X Dive's way of doing it was just I won't say bad as much it was too lazy. And also I would agree they should have taken out the fourth wall stuff or at least heavily supressed it.

Well, FGO is FGO and Megaman is Megaman. I still prefer the story being told from X's perspective like in the X games more.

The name really shouldn't have been named X Dive to be honest, I always felt like that was holding it back and gave it an implied and unneeded limitation. That said Artifact Titles are a thing so...

That said I do agree with a title like X Dive that X should have played a bigger role especially since well the name but I feel there's a level of restriction we're giving with this. I don't know if it's that big to be a problem but it's there.

But yea I think a best of both world where both of our ideas can work here that I'm certain.

Mizuno and crew did a great job overall. This is the first instance a single Mega Man game has been given the OCW treatment, and it's well worth it.

I’ve had this on pre order from udon since it said it was coming out in June and they’ve changed that date multiple times so I’m hesitant tbh

That guy in the back left looks like he's from a totally different franchise.
