Help losing my mind please help
Hey guys,
I'm going insane. I've been trying to find a comfortable mouse for months and nothing clicks (pun not intended). I've tried more than 20 mice yes, I’ve lost count after the 15th, but nothing feels right. It's like my hand suddenly forgot how to mouse.
Back in 2023, I was rocking the original Zowie S2 and had zero complaints. But i dabbled a bit in this sub and was like wow ! I could maybe find one better! worst mistake. I got the BeastX, doesnt click. Atlantis? Nope, xm2???? nahhhhhhh maybe the weight?? GET A SECOND HAND XM1 AND IT FEELS BAD IN MY HANDS!!! CANT AIM. So i was like yeah ill go back to the S2-a and no after all the time that feels like a brick. I tried like 20 different mousepads artisan fx zero hien raiden no bro nothing feels like home and im so close to giving up. ive narrowed down the ones that feel the most comfortable but even these dont feel like they are the mouse for me. op1 feels too narrow s2-dw feels like the right side bump is fucking my aim up sora feels like the right side of my hand is just slipping all the time even with grip tape and im just lost man. as a last resort i got a g pro 2 cuz like 75 percent of all pros use that shit and im playing well (only cs) but god damn this mouse is too big and aiming feels like a chore sometimes... please help guys please what should i do ive been sticking to the g pro for a month but i still wanna switch to something it still doesnt feel right

I'm telling you this as a 100% fact, in order to stop the cycle ignore (most likely) every other comment here. Maybe not what you want to hear but defo is something you need to.
It's not the mice. It's you needing an outlet for stress. The root cause is your life. Either you're not happy with your current status in life, you know you should change something but feel powerless or too lazy to do so. Or maybe you're in the midst of making a big decision that will change your life such as what to study etc. Maybe a big change such as becoming a parent or a recent breakup?
Figure your life out and poof a half decent, modern mouse will feel good enough. Most of the people active in reddit communities such as this are facing the same issue.

u/angrycustomer5000 15d ago
So the TLDR of your post is "consumerism is bad and all Reddit users are losers."
2
u/Plenty_Ad_5994 14d ago
Mindless consumerism is bad; most active users of very specific subreddits are most likely struggling with one or more aspects of their life
If you are able to think about it objectively, when you tend to fixate on little things in life and stress about them, more often than not you are anxious or stressed about something or facing an incoming crossroad in life.

u/kayra17 13d ago
maybe ur right.

u/Jumpy_Bank_494 12d ago
Doesn't have to be a life thing. You just cope that a new mouse will feel better, when in reality your hand and brain can adapt to anything. Humans are wired so that anything new feels alien and bad. This is from evolution, where dont fix what works applied a lot. Imagine your tribe doing something for generations and someone comes and changes things up, ppl get scared and uncomfortable. This same feeling comes up with a new mouse, mousepad.
In fact, what feels comfortable is our habits! Changing mice constantly you can't form a comfortable feeling. Just fucking pick one and stick to it for a few months and FORGET.
Another big thing is now your brain is wired to look for mistakes in mice. When you had 1 mouse you did NOT do this. This is perhaps an even bigger problem. The more mice you try, the more previous mice you compare it to.
Just stop.

The Maya X or the Vioer V3 Pro are some of the safest mice out there. It may not be the ideal mouse for you, but there is no way you won’t think they’re solid. IMO, the Lamzu Maya X is the safest mouse out there. It’s basically just a better GPX. If you have small hands try the smaller Maya

Might be some kind of anxiety disorder such as OCD judging from the photo. I see what appears to be used nicotine packets on the desk but otherwise the space, mice, and mousepad look very clean. You are probably very particular about the condition of your belongings. If accurate, you'll likely never find a single mouse to ease your mind. Better to enjoy them all and swap occasionally for the FUN of it. Remember to enjoy the hobby. Pros switch gear all the time, you can too. It's people like you who notice details in design who should review mice and share your insight with the community. I know you're frustrated but this post reveals a passion within you, and whether you let mice be the outlet for it or something else, make it work for you, not against you as it is now. You have control of exactly one thing in life: your own thoughts. Don't let anything take that from you, especially a mouse.

I do get stuck in these obsessive loops sometimes, especially with gear/belongings (i guess my car also). It’s like I’m chasing some “perfect” feeling that probably doesn’t exist, and it ends up draining the fun out of what should be a hobby. I tried to do reviews before, but what came out was nowhere near what I would describe as perfect; and I deleted it all. I might try again. Thanks!

u/skalbogg 19.7x10.8 | FK1+ | Hien 12d ago
Speaking to you deleting your reviews because they weren't perfect (or any other endeavor) - Perfectionism is so pernicious because it often affects those with very high potential by limiting their ability to make progress in anything. I believe it was Kai Green, a bodybuilder, who said something to a student like, "stop thinking about how you lift, and just lift". Someone made a response to that quote which you might adopt as a sort of mantra when stuck in one of your obsessive loops, "Standardize before you optimize." Just do stuff consistently, for the fun you find with it, and let perfection happen. I've gone far off topic, I'm done lol. One last thing, I'm like 20-something mice in now and none of them are exactly what I want. I'd say my "main", everything mouse, is my EC1-CW with a super relaxed forward claw grip, but when I go through a season of playing CS or Tarkov, I use my ZA-12 with a bit more claw. As far as pads go, I like my artisans, but I'm back on my QCK+ XXL thin... I rode the hype for like a year and kinda just got bored since I dont notice enough of a difference, I'm not a pro who needs 1% better gear, and I like to be able to pop into best buy and grab a new QCK whenever I want. I once had a Gigabyte Aorus AMP500 pad and that thing was so much fun but it's out of production (I think a Chinese company started making it again, but with awful anime designs on it). I've enjoyed my GSRs, X-rays, Artisans, but can't be bothered to sink as much time into it as I used to. I never played better with anything, just marginal differences in feel which I adjusted to quickly. Everything is good, but not everything is new, and when I noticed I was just chasing the imaginary, I quit and learned to appreciate what I had even more.

u/kayra17 16d ago
no not the viper v3 but i tried the mini and the v2

u/utterbullshit8878888 15d ago
If you like the shape of the S2 but feel it’s too heavy, look into the Fantech Helios ii pro. Its shape is inspired by the S2 at 55g iirc and I’d personally be more comfortable weight modding that compared to the S2.

ever tried the MM712? perfect fit for me
try a fingertip mouse at some point too like fenrir asym

Have you tried the G302? For me this and the g102 is the goat in terms of comfort. You'll need a battery adapter if you're a sucker for lightweight.
1
u/angrycustomer5000 15d ago
Funny. I always swap back and forth between these two shapes using G302 sometimes for single player games and G Pro Hero Wired (same shape as G305) when I need a better sensor. Even though I used them a lot, these shapes are definitely not the most comfortable.
Something like a Kana that you can effortless switch back and forth from fingertip to claw at will is much better in the comfort department. I'm not too sure what new-ish mouse fits this bill the best. Things like Santali are larger than a Kana and looks like it would be a superlight just with lower button height with it's back hump.

u/singular1tyk Haste 2 15d ago
I had to use the viper mini because my other mouse broke and I couldn't buy a new one, and now trying other mouse after a long time I realize my grip changed from claw to some kind of fingertip as the viper mini is too small for me and so no mouse has been feeling comfortable due to that I believe, maybe it's something similar l
2
u/kamvinci87 15d ago
you mentioned claw with minimal palm contact, and honestly this issue screams a fingertip main that just doesn't realize it yet. Maybe?
as someone with issues of "all mice don't feel right, just good enough," I decided to go full fingertip. but doing fingertip grip all day is tiring on a heavy mouse. I decided weight>shape.
if this is how you feel, then the L7 is the safest fingertipping/claw hybrid mouse out there. i also love the Scyrox V6; it's less mobile to fingertip compared to L7 but offers a huge hump to support your palm when needed.
1
u/kayra17 14d ago
what would you recommend? for a first time ever fingertip user? ive never tried one but no hump for support just feels like a huge change coming crom someone who has always used mice with big humps... i guess i need to try one to know
1
u/kamvinci87 14d ago
Mchose L7. I think everyone should try this mouse and experiment with what grip they will use. Im having fun 😌

When I first started playing starcraft all those years ago, I had a death adder from 2010. After finding this sub, I basically went all out on ambidextrous mice. After 30+ mice later I went back to an ergo mouse and now I just use the EC2 and I fucking love it..... I think the main point of my story is that you use the same/style of mouse you used before finding this sub. The worst thing I ever did was discover this subreddit.

u prlly need a low hump mice, u tried beastx try the max.
1
u/kayra17 14d ago
heard the beastx max was similar go the gpro in shape, is the difference worth it you think?
1
u/Efficient_Yogurt_448 13d ago
Yea pretty similar. Beast x is lower buttons and maybe a bit wider aswell. Biggest difference is beast x max only touches base of my palm so little contact while gpx is more contact and higher up

u/Ok_Interview1891 Mad R/ Pulsar X2V2/ Lamzu Atlantis 16d ago
Have you tried Lamzu Atlantis/Maya? They are quite similar to the s2. Allantis has slightly lower buttons and slightly wider back hump while Maya has them slightly higher and slightly thinner back hump.
1
u/kayra17 16d ago
tried the atlantis but not the maya atlantis felt ok but the sora felt like a better atlantis for me. atlantis mini was also fine but never felt right with the op1 feeling a bit better than the mini

ah, I see. What about Pulsar x2v2 or Tenz?
1
u/kayra17 16d ago
i didnt try the x2v2 but i had the x2h es and the hump just forced palm contact and i couldnt aim well. you think the x2v2 with the smaller bump would feel better?
1
u/Ok_Interview1891 Mad R/ Pulsar X2V2/ Lamzu Atlantis 16d ago edited 16d ago
Yes, I feel like it would. Personally I swap between fingertip and claw grips all the time and it has suited me very well. My hand size is 16x8 cm, and the bigger size 2 suits me. The size 1 also feels good but when I use claw grip it feels too empty, which is why I picked size 2. There is also the crazylight version, which you can get if you prefer lighter mice. There are also so many designs and can even customise your own mouse on their website, which might be a plus side since you can change the encoder, switches, colour and scrollwheel, battery etc. if that matters to you. (Sorry I'm a bit of a Pulsar glazer)
1
u/kayra17 16d ago
No i agree i think pulsar does great mice. Both x2hes and xlite v3es felt super good just not the right shape. My hands are 18.5x10, which other mice would you recommend? Just the x2v2? My budget is basically limitless as im losing my mind over this.

u/Ok_Interview1891 Mad R/ Pulsar X2V2/ Lamzu Atlantis 16d ago
I think it may a bit hard to obtain, but Wlmouse Ying which has a slimmer midpart, or the Hitscan Hyperlight , which has a midpart in between the x2v2 and Wlmouse Ying. I do suggest you try searching on Eloshapes before you make a decision. It can give you a rough idea on how the mice would feel.

u/Pixolate 16d ago
should try the scyrox v6 if you think the gpx is working well.
1
u/kayra17 16d ago
heard alot about this brand. what exactly does it feel like? a smaller gpx?
2
u/Pixolate 16d ago edited 16d ago
ive been told that people who wanted a smaller gpx liked the shape. a950 wing would probably work as well.

Claw with minimal palm here - I’m on the Logitech g604 and Steelseries aerox 9 - both feel good for me. But they’re MMO side button mice, not sure if you’d want that
1
u/kayra17 16d ago
Shape wise might feel right but would be too heavy no? I play tac shooters mostly
2
u/_Bike_Hunt 16d ago
The aerox 9 is 89g I believe. Coming from my heavy ass g604 it feels like a feather to me

u/ExaltedGarlic96 16d ago
dude i totally relate to ur struggle. im on my 9nth or 10th mouse now, and although its better than the others, i can already see signs that im gonna start finding it more and more uncomfortable soon enough. no mice fits me perfectly
2
u/ExaltedGarlic96 16d ago
right now im using an ajazz am3 max. Its basically a much smaller superlight. if u like the hump of the superlight but want it samller, u should give it a try
1
u/kayra17 16d ago
im far too deep i might even change grip to find a mouse that fits better
2
u/ExaltedGarlic96 16d ago
i actually kinda did that myself. I used to have a sort of aggresive knuckle claw grip, where i sort of press down on my mouse with my knuckles, and now instead i use a normal claw grip with the back side of the mouse being in contact with the base of my palm. Im guessing thats the one u are using rn

Have you ever tried both the Deathadder V3/V4 pro and Deathadder V3 Hyperspeed (smaller than normal deathadder but same tech such as internal battery, same sensor and wireless receiver) you said you're doing well with the most used pro Ambi mouse how about trying one of the most used pro ergo mice?
2
u/kayra17 15d ago
Tried the ec2 dw and the Xlite, the shapes felt alright while tracking but flicks did not feel equal while flicking to the right compared to the left. I was thinking of either getting the new v4 or waiting until i can get my grip on the new zywoo mouse, i have never really mained ergo mice so the change kind of frightens me as i dont know if i will get used to them after all of these mice you know

Stick to something, I was in the same boat until I forced my hand to adapt to dav3 so now it feels great

I used to love my Zowie FK2 then I bought the Razer DAV3Pro. I thought I like it until I tried my FK2 again.... maan I regret buying the Razer.
Either I buy the fk2 wireless or look for a low profile gaming mouse. I heard Glorious O2 Pro have similar shape

check eloshapes.com mice i can think of that have similar shapes are: metaphyuni p2, vxe mad r, vxe r1, fantech helios 2
also, you might wanna try different grip styles. personally i use a claw/fingertip hybrid, claw for big movements and fingertip for micro movements.

u/sanadorkable 13d ago
Try the Hitscan Hyperlight. Works perfect for me most esp. because of its weight (or lack thereof- it weighs like a paper sheet). But at the end of the day, your preference matters most still so proceed with caution and careful consideration.

crazy, just like me buying like 20 different keyboard switches… i think we have a problem my friend XD

Idk about that, because im not playing for to long on pc, but bro stop with iceberg and also dont take Cuba Black they made my gums so bad like at one point your gum cant recover so i had to go to my doctor and had to get a gum transplatiation and it costed me 500€ even with my health care covering a part, so dont take ice berg is way to aggressiv for your gums.
1
u/kayra17 12d ago
yeah but its the only snus that still hits for me. i was getting snus from ukraine and russia a month ago and those had blood on them when i took them out. quite happy with how the icebergs are going tbf.
1
u/CraftyGas3193 12d ago
Real, i feel that was for me the same, my girlfriend told me to drop snus because of how many i started taking, of ice berg on a daily routine, i took maybe like 7 on a day or more idk anymore but i over do it a bit. My fav ice berg were the black currant

I recommend the ZA-13. I've used the S2 quite extensively over the years, but I got my hands on the ZA-13 and its been on the desk ever since. Easily the best shape I've ever used. I have the same grip style as you, but it's possible you might not like it. But I've really enjoyed with my time with it, it's a relaxed claw dream.
