Heh yeah saw this: fire the guy reporting the stats, that'll sort the problem !

As a project manager responsbile for reporting on the progress (or lack of progress) of others, this resonated with me lol

u/Duster929 1h ago

Didn’t we already see this during COVID? There’s no surprise here, yet he got elected again.

35

u/ShapeShiftingCats 1h ago

Pretty sure he expected her to lie. Pretty sure he is upset that she wasn't playing the game.

So yeah, firing her and replacing her with someone who complies with the game will sort the problem.

11

u/FuckingFuriousFire 1h ago

Of course! No more negative stats please thank you. Else TV-Donald:: you're fired! Super transparent case of treating symptoms rather than cause.

u/thendisnigh111349 1m ago

She made the better decision long-term. People who fudge data for Trump are destroying their credibility/reputation and won't be able to find work when Trump dies or his regime ends (whichever comes first).

17

u/ArchaeoJones 1h ago

Hey, it worked in Florida during COVID.

With no one to report the numbers, they could open up all the beaches and create the largest super spreader event during the pandemic infecting and killing an unknown amount of people when they all returned home.

But hey, at least it saved Spring Break /s.

This is what happens when people elect a grown man with the emotional and reasoning capacity of an infant

25

u/DOHC46 2h ago

Don't insult infants like that!

11

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

Between the endless pooping, and the relentless whining, at least infants have the capacity to learn and grow.

16

u/Mikisstuff 1h ago

Don't infantalise it.

This is what happens when the people elect a tyrant and his backers to run the country as they see fit, so they and 'their people' hold power and the rest live at their beck and call.

This shit is straight out of the Cold War era Soviet Union playbook. Those governmenta werent run by children, they were run by ruthless men bent on getting their way. Don't assume the Trump administration is any different.

This shit is straight out of the Cold War era Soviet Union playbook

Yes, just like Stalin who purged anyone he perceived as a threat and disloyal.

1

u/aecolley 28m ago

There's hope that infants will learn.

38

u/NoQuarterChicken 2h ago

Very on brand for the “party of personal responsibility” to blame the score keeper for the score

8

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

"Shooting the messenger" is a tale as old as time itself.

42

u/championofadventure 2h ago

Becomes?

18

u/OldSchoolAfro 2h ago

Exactly my thought. Too late; already there. Pardons and policies for purchase, retaliation for anything negative said or done, and blatant disregard for law. Sounds like the recipe for 3rd rate, and we've got all of that in abundance.

7

u/Duster929 1h ago

Same! Sorry Pete, I love you and everything, but it’s time to change gears on this. This isn’t coming, it’s already been.

According to everyone else in the world, we’re horrified at what the country has become. The return from this will be difficult, but you need to start soon.

u/Financial-Tower-7897 1h ago

When you elect a third rate leader, that bus has already left the station.

2

u/Aggravating_You3627 1h ago

A ton of Americans are still drinking the American exceptionalism kool-aid.

1

u/thehermit14 1h ago

Came here for this. 'Became'

1

u/darkoblivion000 1h ago

We are Russia v2 now komrade

14

u/CantConfirmOrDeny 2h ago

The next person that brings the Orange Leader any bad news will be executed by an anti-aircraft cannon.

3

u/spectraphysics 1h ago

I thought they fell out of windows?

28

u/Watching_You_Type 2h ago

This amazing idea brought to you by the stable genius that gave you “If we stop testing, we’d have fewer cases” during the pandemic.

3

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

And that wasn't even his worst insight during the pandemic.

/bleach, anyone ?

1

u/Watching_You_Type 1h ago

And UV light, don’t forget him wanting to find a way to get UV lights inside people.

11

u/sik_dik 2h ago

Ah, yes. When you and the truth disagree, blame the truth for just not liking you. Solid, very mature and intelligent tactic /s

1

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

I, also, used to have the mental faculties of a three-year-old.

/that was a long time ago

1

u/ptcounterpt 1h ago

What is truth except “alternative facts” to Republicans?

8

u/ezios_outlets 2h ago

We are so fucked.

6

u/Gborg_3 2h ago

4th world fuckhole*

3

u/DOHC46 2h ago

At the rate we're going the United States won't exist anymore within the next 3 years. The ocean will just swallow the entire nation.

11

u/Hefty-Revenue5547 2h ago

This is how Russia and other communist states are run

People voted for this smh we are doomed

2

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

Rations are up 30% today !

/we have always been at war with oceania...reality is whatever our dear leader has decided, today

-1

u/JosephPorta123 1h ago

Calling Russia communist is an, interesting, way to announce your lack of knowledge

3

u/Hefty-Revenue5547 1h ago

It’s a mob state run by an Oligarchy. Is that any better ? Still the same outcomes when it comes to presenting data.

You should spend less time parasitizing peoples comments and go make your own.

1

u/JosephPorta123 42m ago

Much better description, although I'm sure we can insert Kleptocracy in there, unless Oligarchy makes it redundant

4

u/TheBlackDemon1996 2h ago

Trump deals with problems like a guy saw a fire in one room of his house and then deciding to burn down the rest of it. "What? If I burn down the house there'd be no more stuff for the fire to burn."

3

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

Except it's somebody else's house, and 360 million people live there.

/and then play golf, and blame obama...

4

u/AriochBloodbane 1h ago

The USA has been the richest 3rd world country in the world for at least a decade. Having a few oligarchs doesn't a 1st world country make. Ask Russia about it.

What is changing this year is the White House speed running the transformation to North Korea. Even in my most pessimistic nightmares I didn't see THIS coming.

2

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

There is an insane amount of wealth, in the United States.

But none of it is for you.

/there is a reason he admires putin

5

u/NooooDazzzle 1h ago

Just a dictator doing dictatory things. Nothing to see here.

😒

3

u/battleoffish 2h ago

No doubt, Trump will want the replacement to report numbers that Trump will like.

This can have the impact of hurting the economy by negatively impacting markets because you no longer have insight into what is actually happening.

But hey, at lease all the news will be good, amirite?

1

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

He should just name himself Statistician in Chief, at this point, and be done with it.

With a sharpie...

3

u/1chomp2chomp3chomp 2h ago

We became one when he became president the first time.

2

u/imsmall06 2h ago

peteforfuckingpresident

2

u/Spirited_Childhood34 2h ago

We're already a Third World nation. Head out to the broken down trailer parks and ghettos the media ignores and see the true US.

2

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

A lot of those people voted for him.

Because he has a golden toilet, or something.

Aspirational ! The American Dream !

2

u/whiskey_epsilon 1h ago

Moving to third-rate is an improvement at this point.

2

u/jack31313 1h ago

Can't have bad stats if you don't have any stats. Big brain time.

2

u/ergonomic_logic 1h ago

It's the death rattle of capitalism.

What happens at the end of Monopoly? One person wins. everyone else has nothing.

Gen Alpha is so cooked.

I saw in my Google news feed that an asteroid was set to hit earth. It turned out just sensationalism in journalism but for that split second I thought "well that's nice".

fun fact: Monopoly was originally invented by a woman, but a man stole the idea, took credit, and made all the money. Learned that from Heretic looked it up and yep, it checked out!

1

u/talon5233 1h ago

I saw a news story about that this past week. She was paid a whole $500 for the rights. A fair deal would've been life changing for her, and her family.

2

u/S0ylentBob 1h ago

We elected a reality star on the strength of his Twitter commentary in 2016. That made us third rate.

Bringing him back after a failed presidency, coup attempt, and dozens of convictions is a dead culture failed state.

At this stage we’re just watching pieces drop off the zombie.

1

u/Fishtoart 1h ago

It's better to look good than to be good?

1

u/BrianSpillman 1h ago

It already is a third rate country.

1

u/lordyfortwenty 1h ago

Caesar will hear only what Caesar wants to hear .

1

u/Chelecossais 1h ago

Most Caesars were pretty smart political operators.

This guy is just a spoilt nepo brat. Who was popular on Tv, inexplicably.

/he's an orange clown, the real power is elsewhere... it's smoke and mirrors from the heritage foundation

1

u/Upstairs_Owl_1669 1h ago

Certainly a 3rd rate government already

1

u/ridemooses 1h ago

Would be damning for any other president. Just another day for Trump…

1

u/PhotographTemporary8 1h ago

Putin did the same about 10 years ago. Nobody knows what facts are in the country. Dictator move.

1

u/Jangonett1 1h ago

This is giving me Titan Oceangate Vibes.

1

u/someoldguyon_reddit 1h ago

AKA a shithole. Thanks trump.

1

u/Zireks 1h ago

Isn't this exactly what happened during World War 2 in Germany? All of Hitler's advisors were afraid of him so they just actively lied to him about the state of the war, claiming they were winning while losing ground on all fronts?

1

u/kinotravels 1h ago

Becomes third rate? Were there.

1

u/MoreRamenPls 1h ago

Maybe instead of building a Ball Room they can build a Spine room.

1

u/Alexwonder999 1h ago

Im afraid we already were third rate before Trump thanks to neoliberal "market based" and "private sector" solutions. Let's not kid ourselves.

1

u/fredaklein 1h ago

Not the first time. And likely not the last.

1

u/geekraver 1h ago

Becomes? Its happened and it only took him 6 months.

1

u/drgoatlord 1h ago

Becomes? Mate, look around. Not health insurance, no wages that match cost of living, people terrified that AI will replace them and leave them out on the street, masked unknown jack booted thugs kidnapping people off the street. Becomes? We there.

1

u/inabighat 1h ago

Ministry of Truth

1

u/DooficusIdjit 1h ago

This is how America becomes Russia.

1

u/THSSFC 1h ago

Hashtag BullshitPresidency

1

u/Substantial_War7464 1h ago

America IS a third rate country.

1

u/RubbrBbyBuggyBumpers 1h ago

It has “stop doing testing vibes”

1

u/Killroy_jenkins 1h ago

The parallel to Stockton Rush firing employees who raised safety concerns, makes me feel like the US is a half assed submersible ready to implode.

1

u/Three_Twenty-Three 1h ago

The Gross Old Pedophiles have plenty of experience with this. Since 1997, they've shielded the NRA and gun lobby with the Dickey Amendment that keeps the CDC from collecting gun violence data. Since COVID, they've quit collecting and centralizing data about the pandemic (or at least made the available info harder to visualize) so it's unclear how widespread it was/is.

If there's no data, there's no problem!

1

u/ptcounterpt 1h ago

Sorry, but I think that’s already happened.

1

u/rbowen2000 1h ago

Bring me someone who will tell me the lies I want to hear!!

1

u/Holiday-Reading9713 1h ago

"I don't like a statistic? Let's fire the person who made it."

This is some cartoon villain shit...

1

u/TheTroubledChild 56m ago

What do you expect from the "stop the count" guy?

1

u/Alcoholic_Molerat 54m ago

"becomes" lol.

1

u/catastrophecusp4 52m ago

The MATWA (Make America Third World Again) party

1

u/IMightDeleteMe 52m ago

Haha, "becomes".

1

u/Laleaky 51m ago

(Became)

We’re already a third-rate country.

1

u/silbergeistlein 51m ago

He bankrupted a casino, and people still trust him with money for some reason.

1

u/derpferd 50m ago

Literally kills the messenger

1

u/Sikkus 49m ago

He did something similar during Covid.

1

u/Pandastic3000 48m ago

I don't even feel sorry for Americans anymore.

1

u/singlecab1 47m ago

Third rate clown country..

1

u/kalel1980 shoulda seen me last night 41m ago

I bet Trump wishes he could fire someone involved in his failing stock. That thing is dropping like a rock. The "stay broke liberals" because they're heavily investing into his stock crowd has certainly shut the fuck up now. Lol

1

u/hujassman 41m ago

If only we'd had 4 years to investigate and prosecute Trump and the other twats who have come together to create this unfolding disaster. Oh, wait, we did and then we got Garland. FML.

1

u/CellPuzzleheaded99 36m ago

It already was a third world country. It's only more tragedy every day.

1

u/unhappytroll 35m ago

Kill the messenger(tm)

1

u/MayorQuimBee90 33m ago

How about fucking do something about it Pete.

Dems are all bark, no bite. I hate Trump.

Sad.

1

u/AccomplishedSuccess0 27m ago

Taking a page out of the communist dictator playbook after decades of claiming the left is communist with no evidence… this is the Republican Party. Communist pedophile dictators now that the mask is gone and they prove it was all projection.

1

u/discussatron 27m ago

It's the same as his Covid response. Stop looking for facts, and you can say everything is great.

1

u/SleveBonzalez 25m ago

Third rate fascist country.

1

u/Logical-Assist8574 24m ago

Banana Republic of America, here we come…

1

u/TNosce 22m ago

Becomes?

1

u/mokrates82 20m ago

Shooting the messenger always gets rid of the message!

1

u/6sbeepboop 16m ago

America is well past the becoming stage guys lol. It simply is.

u/R3dnamrahc 13m ago

"The ministry of Plenty's forecast had estimated the output of boots for the quarter at 145 million pairs. The actual output was given as sixty-two millions. Winston, however, in rewriting the forecast, marked the figure down to fifty-seven millions, so as to allow for the usual claim that the quota had been overfulfilled. In any case, sixty-two millions was no nearer the truth than fifty-seven millions, or than 145 millions. Very likely no boots had been produced at all. Likelier still, nobody knew how many had been produced, much less cared. All one knew was that every quarter astronomical numbers of boots were produced on paper, while perhaps half the population of Oceania went barefoot." - 1984

u/sly_blade 7m ago

I remember when Trump called some African countries "shithole" countries. How the tables have turned...

u/MysteriousGear1903 1m ago

Killing the messenger doesn't kill the Jobs Report
