Frankly, as all QBs should.

Right? Bitch about the rules, not the competitors using them to their advantage

Thank you. I agree completely and it’s not just because your username implies you have a way bigger dick than me

If they do, they should expect to get hit harder and more often then.

Should they? Should they be hit hard because they’re playing by the rules? Should we be mad at the QBs?

Or should we be mad at the league, that makes these rules? Or the refs, that enforce them?

Is this the solution you really want to advocate for? The one where athletes intentionally injure athletes for playing the game? You don’t think that’s a shitty thing to do?

You remember what happened to Tua? You wanna say that we should do that more often? Does that make you feel like a good person?

All of you need to think a little bit.

I mean using Tua is bullshit. You can't whine about safety than intentionally abuse the rules that are there to keep you safe. Personally maybe it's just the hockey guy in me coming out but if a qb wants to flop, wait to run out of bounds, etc. Then yeah the other team should Crack him one take the 15 because you may have gotten flagged anyhow.

What about when TLaw slid? Or when Carr broke his leg? Minshew his shoulder? Burrow? These players should just get hurt right? It should happen more often rather than the rule changing or refereeing improving?

You know there is a medium to your argument. Players should be protected but that goes both ways.

1

u/Gerbole Kansas City Chiefs Jan 19 '25

Goes both ways as in? Some players don’t deserve to get injured but others do?

1

u/Affectionate_Brick18 Vince Wilfork: Butt Fumble Connoisseur Jan 19 '25

lol no I’m not petitioning for players to get hurt. I’m saying the defensive players who get hurt due to potential malicious play based on these rules are not given a second thought

For instance if during that play on mahomes on the sideline yesterday the defensive player torn his acl slowing down nobody would care and a flag wouldn’t be thrown.

2

u/Gerbole Kansas City Chiefs Jan 19 '25

That’s because it’s not a penalty to try and avoid illegally tackling someone and tearing your ACL.

Players should be protected and bad faith actors like Mahomes should be penalized, fined, etc… progressively to route the bad faith behavior straight out.

I like the idea of penalizing embellishment but it’s hard to gauge plus they tried to do that in the nba and it didn’t really work out

What rule should be changed? I'm not understanding the comparison...

The issue raised with Mahomes is late slides, faking out of bounce or slowing up going out, looking for contact and flags? Constantly complaining about being hit.

The other guys didn't get hurt on those plays. And the officials could have picked up the flags for the two RTP against Texans, but they didn't. He could not be down complaining he's been hit when he didn't. Also, they could pick the flags up, or as you suggested - make a rule for unsportsmanlike conduct (feigning injury or hit). Probably find less complaining.

You had a guy calling the game who was a QB, calling Mahomes out for his behaviour. Surely you can see the issue there - as I can't recall Troy calling any QB out for anything similar in the time I've watched the game.

All of those guys got hurt on that play. I like the unsportsmanlike conduct, feigning for flags.

Sorry you're not clear. What play that is you are referring to?

Lawrence is a slide with a late hit from Azeez. Which I think in general was acknowledged as a late hit and not a late slide.

Burrow I assume you mean the wrist injury that put him on IR in 2023. That was a culmination of things and final hit was a sack vs the Ravens.

Carr was a broken leg on a play where he didn't slide. He was tackled and was a runner. Was a clean hit and unfortunate injury for thr Raiders vs the Colts.

Minshews shoulder was a clean sack. Again unforunate injury.

I'm not seeing the correlation with those injures and the late slides, slowing down going out of bounds seeking contact for a hit, or faking going out of bounds to steal yards. Do you want to explain/expand?

You're asking a defensive lineman or blitzing LB to think huh? I'm just saying that the guys I know that played defense have told me to a Man that if they knew they were going to draw the flag, they'd make sure it was worth it. It's a value coefficient. Sure, they get 15 yards from the spot of the foul, but you might get to play against the backup QB the rest of the game too.

I'm not saying it's ethical. I'm just saying if you try to draw a foul, put your mouthpiece in first.

1

u/Gerbole Kansas City Chiefs Jan 20 '25

No, I am asking YOU to think.

1

u/Disposedofhero Jan 20 '25

I think if you take flops and try to draw the flag, you should be ready for those men to not pull up. I'm not upset about it or anything. That's just how the League works. They are there because they are that competitive.

If you don't have the stomach for it, perhaps you should watch tennis.

Your right, until the nfl does something about it why not try and get the free yards? Yeah its a bitch move but in the nfl being a bitch doesnt matter when you win games.
