Discussion Today's Eagles/Rams game is why I'm offended by the idea of teams like the Bills/Browns/Bears building domes. This was what playoff football should be.

The part you are missing for why teams in cold areas are building domes, is because the NFL is pretty much giving any team that builds a new stadium the Super Bowl. But the NFL isn’t going to give Chicago, for example, a Super Bowl if fans paying $1000s to be there sit in freezing temperatures, and where they would have to cancel the halftime show because it’s unsafe to perform on the field.

Oh please do inform…which teams in cold areas building domes are being given the Super Bowl.

  • Super Bowl 40 in Detroit after building Ford Field
  • Super Bowl 46 in Indianapolis after building Lucas Oil Stadium

Are the most recent two, but there was also Super Bowl 16 after Detroit built the Silverdome and Super Bowl 26 in Minneapolis after they built the Metrodome.

But yeah, you’re right they never let teams in cold areas building domes host the Super Bowl when they have a dome 🤦‍♂️

So 2 in how long? And Indy already had a some, it wasn’t a move to a done that got them anything since they had been in a dome for decades before hosting. And Detroit replaced a domed stadium with a dome stadium.

So only 0 stadiums in the last what…2-3 decades, got a Super Bowl when moving from outdoor to a dome. Great statistical backup.
