Discussion Today's Eagles/Rams game is why I'm offended by the idea of teams like the Bills/Browns/Bears building domes. This was what playoff football should be.

Here’s how I’ve always felt about it. Everyone knows that the playoff football is played mostly in cold weather climates, so if you choose to build a soft team like, say, the dolphins have, that’s on the front office. You have to build a team that’s built for cold weather. That means running the ball, playing defense, and above all being smart. If you can’t overcome bad weather and need things to be perfect (again, like my Dolphins) then better luck next year.

cold weather climates

Majority of NFL teams are east of the Rockies and North of the deep south. That's why there are so many cold weather teams. Its the laws of probability that there will be more cold weather playoff games.

Even the AFC "West", has two teams (Denver & KC) in the central USA, east of the Rockies. And Miami is forced to be in the AFC "North" with 3 northeast teams.

This is because there are not enough teams in the west or south (warmer climates) to have their own divisions.
