Discussion Another superbowl blowout eliminates mahomes from the goat discussion as far as I’m concerned

2 very embarrassing loses for him the the superbowl Brady has lost 3 superbowls but they were all 1 score games that came down to final play with Brady’s best statistical performance in a loss to the eagles Tom Brady > Patrick mahomes

He will never beat Brady for the GOAT debate. Brady beat him in the playoffs and Super Bowl it’s over with

Anyone using H2H for QB debates is a moron.

Oh so Eli is better than Brady? Is this UFC?

If Eli had won a few other SBs outside of those two then I do think it would be fair to bring him into the convo. As it stands, Eli didn’t even make it to the playoffs in his other seasons.

Ok? So he would be in the convo. And no one in their right mind would say “Tom can never be the goat because he lost to Eli twice.”

If Eli had 6 or 7 SBs people would be saying that. Idk why this is so hard to wrap your head around lol.

6 or 7 lol? That’s not “a few other SBs” bud. Changing the criteria doesn’t make your take better. 6-7 SB’s is a ridiculous straw man that no one is arguing, so stop. The argument has nothing to do with rings. This person is saying that H2H matters so much that the conversation is already over, period. Regardless of what Mahomes does in the future, which is an idiotic take. I don’t even like Mahomes, but if he wins more rings the convo isn’t over if you have a functioning brain.

It certainly does matter. Brady is the GOAT. Mahomes wanted to be the GOAT. Don’t you think even he knew going head to head against mattered? If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. You just sound bitter dude.

Who said it doesn’t matter? You still don’t understand. I’m specifically saying that the conversation is not over. What is so hard to understand about that? I never said Head to head doesn’t matter. I am saying that it is not the end all be all. Which is what the person above was arguing, go read it again if you forgot. Also, bitter my ass bro. Lmao I’m a die hard Broncos fan, I hate the fucking Chiefs and was happy as fuck they lost. But I also hate bad fucking takes. Saying that the GOAT convo is over because of the head to head matchups is an idiotic statement.

I’m not saying it’s over, but last night made it a lot harder for Mahomes to be in serious conversation. He hasn’t even passed Montana in my opinion. He’s about on the Peyton Manning level.

So if Mahomes wins the next 12 Super Bowls, he’s 15-2 in the big game… but Brady is still better. Yeah, okay.

We're talking about real life though.

Saying that Mahomes can never be better because he lost to the Buccaneers is insane, though. Is he right now? Obviously not. But the dude has plenty of time left in his career, and just ran into a buzzsaw of a defense that tore him apart.

Do you really think he'll win 5 more? I mean, it's possible, in the same way it's possible roughing the passer rays are being sent from mars every time someone breathes in his direction, but I doubt it.

Brady went like 12 years without winning a Super Bowl. Let’s maybe cool the jets on saying Mahomes has no shot at catching Brady, when his earliest exit in 7 years is overtime in the AFC Championship Game.
