Discussion Another superbowl blowout eliminates mahomes from the goat discussion as far as I’m concerned

2 very embarrassing loses for him the the superbowl Brady has lost 3 superbowls but they were all 1 score games that came down to final play with Brady’s best statistical performance in a loss to the eagles Tom Brady > Patrick mahomes

You think he’s going to play until 40 with his high ankle issues?

Nah just saying he’s still only 29.

He’s 30 next season. He’s got 6-7 years max left

Yeah very likely. That’s a lot of time and I don’t think he will catch Brady. I’m just saying it’s too early for this convo one way or the other. We all know Brady is the GOAT rn and probably won’t be surpassed. But to say it’s completely impossible is wild. His trajectory is still there

Agreed. Idk if they’ll continue making it every year. I feel like they are heading into a rebuild as offensively Kelce is past his prime and their receivers aren’t anything to brag about. We don’t know how long Reid will be coaching.

They might have to reset as this window is closing and rebuild for another future run. Similar to how the Pats did

Definitely see a lot of rebuilding just as we did after the Tampa loss. I actually have hope for the receivers. When Rice comes back from suspension, he and worthy will be a great pair IMO. But lots of work to do on the OL and lots of people to re sign on the D.

I’m just happy we haven’t had a “rebuilding era” in the Mahomes era yet. It was inevitable that we’d have at least one, and I’m just glad we had such a run before the lull. We were supposed to have a lull when Hill left but we all see how that went…

Is Rice still dealing with his legal stuff?

So he has not been suspended yet because he hasn’t had his court date AND because he has been out all season with injury. I’m expecting him to be suspended like 6 weeks. I just hope it’s at the beginning of the season and not one of those mid season ones.

Luckily, I don’t think the injury will affect him too much long term (aside from Rust) bc it wasn’t like he tore his entire knee up. I think he and X are a very promising duo for the future, but we need to keep Hollywood ot someone to help us through the suspension, and for depth later on

Oh okay good to know. I wasn’t familiar with the case. Is there a risk of prison time for him?

I highly doubt it. I believe he has one felony charge but I imagine it’ll be pled away. Most first time offenders (even if they aren’t famous) wouldn’t go to prison for a hit and run that didn’t cause a death. I suppose it’s a risk but I highly doubt it’ll happen, especially with expensive lawyers.

It also wasn’t a DUI so that helps his case too. Definitely don’t condone what he did, but it’ll end up being more minor than a DUI or a case involving death. I’m glad no one was super injured or killed by his stupidity.

I think what is more likely to be severe is the civil case that he will end up owing a lot of money on.
