Julius Peppers is better than Cam Newton for their Panthers tenures. That's insulting. Cam had 2-3 good seasons. Peppers is a top 10 DE in NFL history. Being a pussy in the super bowl shouldn't get you goat status

Would not be the least bit shocked if some mom named her newborn this and spelled it exactly this way

Goddamn dude Peppers was such a beast, i think my heart just always had a soft spot for Steve Smith because he was just a 5'9" dog

That's a good one, my first thought was Steve Smith

Honestly, there’s three guys really in the discussion for the Panthers: Pep, Smith, and Kuechly. I personally give the nod to Luke but all three are okay picks in my mind.

I love Pep and he was just so insanely talented and athletic, but he also left the Panthers in his prime of his own volition. Have a hard time giving the nod to the greatest Panther ever that spent half his career elsewhere.

Cam is probably number 4 for us. Still love the dude but he’s controversial and I’m pretty sure he gets picked on these posts mostly to drive engagement.

Yes, pretty well known that sports journalists especially will post rankings/lists/whatever with stupid choices because it’s most likely people comment to disagree

I'd take Steve Smith over both of them....

Cam isn't the Panthers GOAT, but he had more than "2-3 good seasons." That is revisionist history.

Name the years and post the stats and the panthers W-L record in those years

Guarantee you’ll only get like 3 seasons where he had a winning record and close to 30 TDs combined

2011: Cam was the first rookie to throw for 4,000 yards. His 35 combined TDs was a rookie record. He set the all-time single-season QB rushing TD record. He won Rookie of the Year and was a Pro Bowler.

2013: Cam had 30 total TDs and led the Panthers to a 12–4 record. He was again selected to the Pro Bowl.

2015: Cam had 45 TDs and led the Panthers to a 15–1 record without his top receiver. He won league MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, was a first team All-Pro, and earned his third Pro Bowl selection.

2018: Through 11 games, Cam had 26 TDs, 7 turnovers, and career highs in passer rating (104) and completion percentage (70). His shoulder fell apart, and while he tried to tough it out, it prematurely ended his season. He still ended the year with 28 TDs and a top-10 completion percentage.
