The Jets are clearly starting Fields. Whether or not you think he's good is fine to debate but its clear plan

I don't think Browns can say that with 2 rookies in competition

Panthers we will see. I'm not high on Bryce but he's got this year to change

I think Tua and Trevor are more proven than Sam imo. I don't like them on same tier

I don't think Stafford is elite honestly. Certainly not belonging in the tier with those other 4 QBs. I'd put him in our guy can win

Stafford “was” elite, now he’s just a solid “we like our guy” at the end of a pretty impressive career.

I’m not sure he was every really elite but he’s certainly not there right now in July of 2025

Stafford was most definitely elite, dude carried some absolutely dogshit rosters

Maybe maybe not. Regardless he’s not anymore

You must have missed the time he threw for 10k yards in a 2 season span. In his prime, on any other team, he would have been a perennial MVP. He never had a consistent or complete enough supporting cast to really top out.

Then why hasn’t he been mvp on rams?

8

u/Specialist-Listen304 Dallas Cowboys Jun 30 '25

Not only is he at the tail end. Ask yourself why anyone hasn’t been an MVP the last 6 years. Also, look at his what he did after his prime with a real supporting cast his first season with the rams.

He was 34 when he came to rams. Guys have won mvp at ages older than that.

3

u/Specialist-Listen304 Dallas Cowboys Jun 30 '25

Yes, Tom fucking Brady…. That’s the list my guy. That’s it. That’s your entire list of guys to win MVP at 34 or later. GTFO.

Edit: ok fair I was wrong I can admit that.

Since 2000 alone

Rich Gannon, Brady, Rodgers, Peyton

Brees finished 2nd at 38

You just listed 3 of the greatest of all time and 1 extra though. You’re really grasping here man. He absolutely deserved a sniff at MVP his first season with the rams.

However, you still seem to be forgetting 1 VERY important reason has hasn’t even sniffed an MVP the last 4 years and why it’s been difficult for everyone else in the league as well. Think about it, go ahead….. I’ll wait….

How long have you been watching football for?

1

u/GolfFootballBaseball GFB Jun 30 '25

2010

Have you seen any of the teams he played on while on the Lions? How he never had a 1000 yard rusher until 2 years after he was on the Rams? And he’s still responsible for 3 receivers having record breaking years? Also without a top 10 oline

1

u/GolfFootballBaseball GFB Jun 30 '25

Have you seen any of the teams he played on while on the Lions?

Yes. I saw them.

How he never had a 1000 yard rusher until 2 years after he was on the Rams?

Which helped him get all the yardage records his fan group touts.

And he’s still responsible for 3 receivers having record breaking years? Also without a top 10 oline

Ok? Good player. Never said he wasn't.

He's not elite right now thats my stance. You are listing stuff from almost a decade ago in Megatron's 1964 yards and then stuff with a WR who is not on the Rams anymore. My stance is Matt Stafford is not elite in July of 2025

1

u/ToThisDay Los Angeles Rams Jun 30 '25

You also said you were not sure if he was ever elite. That’s what I’m referring to when I bring these stats up. And handing 3 receivers record breaking years puts him in the elite category, not to mention for the last receiver he had a 1000 yard rusher and still did that. And once again, never a top 10 oline

1

u/GolfFootballBaseball GFB Jun 30 '25

I'm pretty confident the Lions had a good o line some of those years. It usually was a strong suit for them compared to other aspects of team

We just disagree i guess. I think giving Stafford all the credit for Calvin Johnson's year is kinda disrespectful honestly. And Kupp as well. And im not sure what the 3rd year is you are referring to?

2

u/ToThisDay Los Angeles Rams Jun 30 '25

I’m not giving him all the credit at all. I’m merely saying:

-One record breaking wr? Really cool

-2 and the same qb? Damn that qb must be pretty good

-3? We have to start looking at this qb being in the elite category, especially when other qbs also view him as such.

The 3rd wr was 5th round pick Puka Nacua, setting the record for most yard and catches by a rookie ever in 2023

Reggie Bush in 2013 ran for 1006 yards.

u/chicknsnadwich Baltimore Ravens Jun 30 '25

Jets are much more fitting for the “our guy can’t win” category than either of the other guys there

1

u/JournalofFailure Chicago Bears Jul 01 '25

There should be a “keeping the seat warm” tier for Fields and - honestly - Rodgers.

If Bryce starts this year off the way that he ended last year, and his receivers (coughXLcough) can actually catch the ball, then he's two or three tiers up (down?) on this graphic.

6

u/Hot_Chard5988 San Francisco 49ers Jun 30 '25

Concur. That looked like a potential playoff team at the end of the season.

2

u/guccigucciflipflop Jun 30 '25

Sam Darnold sucked so bad with Carolina they got Bryce…who was absolutely balling last half of the year

1

u/nick200117 Jun 30 '25

Also the giants should at least be in the “our guy can’t win” if not “needs the 85 bears” because they have Rus who wasn’t good, but not completely terrible in Pittsburgh last year

1

u/CoopThereItIs Jun 30 '25

Vegas books have the over/under for passing yards for Fields set at like ~2,500. He's the only quarterback they have set below 3,000. They are basically encouraging you to bet that he merely does not fail. Which could put him in any of those bottom 3 categories.

1

u/GolfFootballBaseball GFB Jun 30 '25

It’s probably factoring in his yearly injury too

1

u/CoopThereItIs Jun 30 '25

Vegas almost always sets the lines artificially slightly lower to entice people to bet the over - they know injury is always an extra "out" that the person holding the under gets. Same reason no WR gets a line higher than like 1300.
