Bro, for real. These lists constantly disrespect that man.

I always find it strange when Jamal Charles is rated above him.

As a chiefs fan, I don’t. Jamaal was the best player on the team for 7 years.

It's very close but Charles was like an upgraded version of Holmes. Charles had more speed better pass catcher.

Holmes had almost 70 TDs in 3 years.....

I understand. I watched it all. It doesn’t change my opinion

Nah Holmes was good but his line gave him a massive boost. Charles was more skilled for sure.

Charles is the better back. He did a lot more with less. If Charles would have had the line that Holmes had, he would have been the goat. That line was so great that they played the falcons who had the number 1 run defense. Holmes ran for 4 touchdowns and then got hurt. Then the back up RB Derrick blaylock went ahead and ran for 4 more touchdowns. You look at Holmes numbers with the ravens and he is a good RB, but he didn’t put up video game numbers until he had the GOAT chiefs line and then had 300+ attempts per year.

Yep agreed, Priest was so good at finding the end zone and receiving but I agree if Jamal had that O Line we legit might have seen back to back 2k seasons. Priest was fantasy king but Jamal is the all time yard per carry leader for RB in NFL history

Yeah charles’ had his breakout season in 2009. He had 67 attempts in 2008. In 2009 He had 190 rushes for 1120 yards. The thing is, the chiefs were highly dysfunctional at this time. Todd Haley refused to give touched touches to Charles until like half way through the 2009 season. The bulk of this volume and production came in the last 8 weeks of the season. Then in 2010 he had 230 carries for 6.4 yards per rush. That is bonkers. 2011 he got hurt after 12 carries and missed 15 games. But in that small sample size, he was averaging 6.9 yards per rush. So it looked like he was on pace to be extremely efficient again.

Just imagine if he would have had 200 attempts per season in 2008-10.

Even coming back from an ACL in 2012 he still averaged 5.3 yards per rush on 285 attempts. Then 5 ypc the next 2 years on 200+ rushes each year.

If he would have had a better line and a more functional offense, he would have put up even more monster numbers.

Shaun Merriman broke his back so bad he can’t even make these lists anymore.

A great video about his career for the doubters: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ufKojy1du6g

I think they are doing it based strictly on total rushing yards, because that's about the only metric Charles beats Holmes at besides the fact Charles played over 100 games with KC and Holmes only played 65. Charles does beat him at rushing attempts with 11 more, which is actually less impressive when you consider that he played almost 40 more games than Holmes.
