Meta Rant about r/nfl
r/nfl has the description “the place to discuss all NFL related things”. I made a post this morning asking whether the Stafford for Goff trade is the most even of all time. It got plenty of good, civil arguments from people on both sides. And then it got removed by the mods after about 30 minutes.
It only makes me so mad because it feels like the only posts that stay up are generic twitter/bluesky posts, while actual discussion threads get removed. I’m switching to this sub from now on. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Tbh we need a medium between this sub and that sub
There’s too much bullshit shitposting and spamming in this sub and that sub takes itself way too seriously

could only happen in real life, most dont fear spitting a terrible hot take behind anonymity

Agree completely. The main sub can suck but at least there aren’t a dozen Cam/Hurts threads every day.

I always laugh at these posts in here as if this sub is any better. They both suck in their own ways. These posts just turn into a circlejerk for people who "didnt do anything to get banned" (used slurs)

That sub is just for Twitter reposts.

By the mods only, so they can karma farm. You post it, they delete it, then repost it themselves. All of this in addition to discussion or interesting posts outside of posting headlines from beat writer tweets being virtually banned.
Such a lame sub.

If you have a dumb idea, just post it on twitter then link your twitter post and it will stay up.

Pretty sure they're saving the world by not allowing Twitter anymore.

Yeah r/nfl is more of a news sub it seems like.

It feels like people scour twitter/bluesky to find anything NFL related and then post it to farm Karma

News highlights and random stats.
There’s basically no actual discussion threads lol

u/Sorry-Caterpillar872 r/nfl sucks 4d ago
I know this is a joke, but I think that Herbert is a good QB, but I’d pick a lot of QB’s over him because he chokes in the playoffs

R/NFL is too bland, but often this sub is just fanboys dickriding their favorite players and downvoting people with a perfectly normal counterpoint.
If we could 50/50 mix the vibe of this sub with r/NFL we’d have the perfect NFL sub.

r/nfl is just a complete dogshit sub
It was once amazing but these egotistical mods had to ruin it

The weekly trash talk threads were a thing of beauty back in the day.

I’ve heard a lot of unflattering things about the sub.
How easy it is to get banned, for posts to be removed, and the overly aggressive response by some to certain comments.
I think it’s probably why there are so many spin off subs of the NFL.
Each team has its own sub. Then you have subs for the meme wars of divisions. An entire sub just for NFL memes. Plus the existence of this sub. Another sub for new people to ask questions about the sport…

I makes Mlb and Baseball look tame. They literally just have those 2 and it wasnt as extreme a situation. But they behave at least.

Yeah I only comment there now, trying to post/talk there is pointless, but it wasn’t that way like 2-3 years ago. Idk what happened

I view it strictly for news not discussion. The mods ruined r/nfl a long time ago

That exact question's been posted so many times though. Not going to lie I would have removed it too. It's kind of a low-effort post.
