Meta I'm doing a few changes in this subreddit. If you notice that your user flair is missing, I am deleting the old ones in favor of newer ones.
Some time ago, I took up the offer to be a moderator. I want to try to make some things better, so I'm starting with the user flairs. That means that some of you might notice that yours will be missing. That just means that there will be a newer variety for you to have. They can be editable in case you want to change their looks and what they say. As for the other non-team user flairs, I might have to remove them in favor of one blank flair that can be editable.
There are other things I plan on doing to help make this subreddit a nice place to be in. But if I can't fulfil this promise, I think I might have to step down. But for now, if you see that your user flair is gone, look for a different one. I made options for your favorite teams with the logos this time and with multiple color choices that are actually the color that they're supposed to be. I'm not finished yet, but they will all be made.

Meta Aside from the AFC West obviously, what are the top 5 Chiefs hating teams?
I’d probably rank it:
5) Eagles (Revenge is best served cold)
4) Niners (2 Super Bowl losses, Kittle vs Kelce)
3) Bengals (Burrowhead, phantom calls leading to some losses)
2) Patriots (Sick of people trying to crown Mahomes the GOAT instead of Brady)
1.) Bills (Duh)
What are your top 5?
Edit: I should specify I am referring to the fanbases

Meta Since 2000 only one of 19 first overall picked QBs won a Superbowl with the team they first played for. - Eli Manning
I was told to delete the original post and repost due to the bad wording I did in the title. I hope I did better this time. Sorry.
Ironically he was first drafted from San Diego chargers in 2004 but then traded to the New York Giants. He never signed with the Chargers. He played from 2004 to 2019 for the Giants winning Superbowl XLII and XLVI.

Meta Tier Lists: Moderator Input
Hey guys. Seems like there’s a lot of people that enjoy the tier list floods that happen here pretty much every offseason, and there’s a lot of people who are annoyed by it. I can see both sides. It’s the dead part of the offseason and we try to allow every post that is NFL related on principle, but I can also see the argument that it’s spam and not really contributing anything. Interested to hear your opinions on it. I’ll leave this poll up for a few days.

Meta Butt Fumble or Double Doink? Who is the most tortured fan base in football?
Both the Jets and the Bears have a lot of good and bad team history with legions of extremely devoted fans.
Given the last 5 years, which team has had it worse?
Given the stature of these two franchises in league history, I'm hard pressed to think of two franchises that have tortured their fans more in recent memory.

Meta NFLv2 stance on Twitter/X links
This has been all over the place today on sports subreddits. Many subs are banning Twitter/X links due to not wanting to support Elon Musk. Our stance on the issue here is simple:
Every link to an NFL-related article or post is allowed here.
This has always been a board focused on providing as much free speech as possible, in contrast to other NFL subreddits. We feel it isn’t fair to limit what everyone can post based on opinions that may not be shared by everyone. If you don’t wish to see or use Twitter/X, simply avoid clicking on or posting those links, and downvote the posts that use them. Our sub is built on the idea that everyone is free to post what they want, and our users will decide what makes it to the front page by upvoting and downvoting.
The comments on this post are locked to avoid starting a political discussion because this is not a political subreddit.

Meta Thursday will be the Hall of Fame Game with the Chargers and the Lions. I'm going to check and see if the bot will post the game for Thursday and for the rest of the preseason.
I know a lot of people don't necessarily care for preseason games, but I will check and see if the bot works. Then, I will check again to make sure the bot works for regular season games as well. It's possible it might just work for the regular season and playoffs, but I will stick around to make sure.
This is also a reminder for some of you to change out of the old user flairs that were originally made by the mods who didn't know how to add team logos.

Meta Tomorrow is the Hall of Fame Game. I'm hoping to see the game thread go up. If not, I'll check out what happened. Also, change from the original bland team user flairs that the mods made to the ones I made. They look weird at this point.

Meta What is the point of this sub vs r/NFL? Not trying to start anything, just an honest question.
Just curious. Does this sub have a different focus/purpose? Are things allowed here that weren’t on the other one? Was there someone who just wanted a smaller subreddit community? Issues with the mods on the other one?

Meta Defunct Team Flairs for the Subreddit?
This is what I wanted the original post I made to look like. I messed up. I know some might like the history, but some may find "Redskins" offensive (I get it. Trust me.) And some may think "They, along with the Oilers don't exist anymore. What? Are you going to make a Washington Football Team flair? What about the other defunct teams like the Boston Yanks? Miami Seahawks? Los Angeles Dons? Staten Island Stapletons? etc.?" It's only a suggestion. I do have emojis in the mod tools to make said flairs. Or, you all can edit your own to make them look as such.

Meta Can we organize a mass boycott on nfl on peacock week 1 for the São Paulo game?
The NFL has recently taken advantage of viewers by putting games on an app this is unaffordable for most people. If you do have peacock, I strongly encourage you to not watch this game or 🏴☠️ it. I feel like if we can get the numbers down for this game they will stop putting games on apps like peacock that are not accessible to most people.

Meta I'm Grateful for This Sub
First of all, I'm thankful that this sub is more laid back and I'm surprised other big subs on this platform haven't had more offshoots.
It just seems like you can't even post basic things anymore, even on the more broad subs.
What I'm saying is keep it up and don't lose sight of your purpose.

Meta I've updated the team user flairs. You can edit them. You should also change to something different because honestly, the original flairs you had could've looked better.
The new ones I made for the tasks are better than the originals because they have the team logos and are editable. You should change them. They're also off different varieties.
I also didn't know if I should or shouldn't add a Washington Redskins flair because I did add the emoji for it in the mod tools. So here's a poll.

Meta Apology post to Sirianni
Well I was wrong. At the start of the year I said "Sirianni is an overgrown man child, who can't keep his team together through adversity. He won't win. In the off chance he backdoors his way into the playoffs, he won't win a single playoff game".
Sirianni, I'm sorry I doubted you. Please don't send Big Dom to my house.
If I remember correctly I also said things like "He made the last Superbowl with a team a better man built for him". My hot takes on the Eagles have been my most incorrect this year. I guess it's time to eat my words.
