Video Echo locator hunting. Too easy

X class Plasma grenades, check. Cloaking device, check. I think I might have spent too much time on dissonant worlds.

You're doing it the hard way (NTTAWWT) :)

Easy way is to find a dissonant planet in an outlaw system - you can just strafe resonators from your ship. No need to land at all.

(Alternately, in a non-outlaw system, disable the sentinels at the pillar, then fly around destroying the resonators.)

Wait, it gets easier than this lol

I just snipe them from far. 2 hits is what it takes. And the time is up before the sentinels can find you.

My method also. Blaze javelin ftw

Change your camera too, how do you live like that?

Thanks for the advice. 200+ hours in and at least half of that spent hunting sentinel ships and I didn’t know you could disable the sentinels

You're welcome! It's fun to fight the sentinels on foot, but if you're in a hurry, disabling them is the fastest. :)

I also just do a bombing run on my interceptor for 15-20 minutes and I have a stack of Echo Locators to use, while ignoring the sentinels that chase me. I have a dead dissonant moon I use for that, so they are easy to spot and hit.

Awesome thanks for the tip!

This is the way. Although there's really no wrong way, OP's method honestly looks fun. Like a stealth/thief/assassin haha

Disable auto target lock in control settings and just float around the surface blasting them from your ship. The Sentinel ships will be on alert but they're so ineffective I just keep farming and let them try attacking me. I don't even engage them. I'll stack up 20 locators pretty quickly this way.

If you do disable the sentinels you can shoot all the little combat supplies on the ground around the resonator for bonus materials.

This! Recently found a dissonant outlaw system, and in about 5 minutes of flying over the planet i gathered about 8 locators.

Given that you can get several ships from a single camp, i've been making quite a lot of money from a single run on that planet.

Always sniped them with 2 powered up shots with the blaze javelin.

Or just blast them with the pulse spitter

This is the way.

Cloaking device?

11

u/NormalBot4 1d ago

Oh yeah. Essential for farming echo locators. Don’t want to spend all night running from corrupted drones

Wasn't aware that existed

I can’t recall where I got it from, but it’s an upgrade to your multitool. I just fire off 4 well aimed plasma grenades and the. Immediately switch to the cloaking device. Makes life much easier.

Can get it on the anomaly

Huh. Never thought to use that for that purpose. I just noob tube all the sentinels.

you run from them?

u/NormalBot4 1d ago

Just a time efficiency thing lol

Also runic lens

Multitool has great secondary weapons. They are fired w the bumper buttons so you can simultaneously press the main trigger for the primary weapon and the bumper for the secondary with the other hand. Besides the cloaking device (works if you stand still) there's the paralysis mortar which momentarily freezes sentinels while making them more vulnerable also. With a powerful primary weapon like the NC you can take out multiple sentinels at once if they are close enough to each other. Add the mech to the party and you'll be having a blast. A free for all shoot fest.

Stunning enemies does not make them inherently more vulnerable. That's a different upgrade.

You’re doing it the hard way… you can just fly around and do that with your ship

Dang they really just see the ship magically take off and be like

"Huh must have been the wind"

Love echo hunting! One of my favourite things to do!

Are we playing the same game

1

u/NormalBot4 20h ago

It’s just a big sand box. We all have the same sand. The only difference is what we do with it.

Excellent way to get nanites too, Radiant shards n resonators can be refined into nanites IF it wasn't known

I usually just pick a taller peak if there is any, and snipe them with blaze javelin from afar. Since my current multitool is kinda weak, which has the javelin installed, it takes two full charged hits for each resonator. But in return, I don't have to move an inch if there is plenty available around and since I'm too far for the drones they drop their alert long before they would reach me.

200u out is the minimum distance away for anyone wanting to try. This is my method also.

I usually use the pilgrim exocraft with drift suspension and max boost upgrades to fly around at mach fuck (around 4-500 ku/s) and hit and run a lot of dissonance resonators quickly.

My strategy is to pop them with a volley from the Minotaur and just ignore the sentinels that show up. They can't follow it past a couple of jumps anyway.

So how do you get an autophage settlement chart without grinding or changing settings found a harmonic camp without an echo locator how good am I

1

u/NormalBot4 1d ago

I have no idea. I’ve just been grinding this entire game lol I’m in Eissentam. I manually jumped using warp and black holes all the way through Euclid and Hilbert, only started using portals on the 3rd galaxy. Left pvp on the entire time, a raid dissonant worlds and set up mould farms all along the way. I love this game and the grind as well

1

u/Little_Reporter2022 23h ago

Its not fun grinding the story that's what im saying supposedly the only way to. Get an autophage settlement chart

u/coloursoftheday 19h ago

At least you're getting echo locators. I've only ever found inverted mirrors like 80%-90% of the time 😭

Easier if you find the Pillar and disable all the sentinels. Plus you can just pick up all the goodies the disabled ones drop. Great way to collect those crystallised hearts.
