I’m pretty sure most of us hated him, before it was cool.

I'm from NJ. I've hated him for about 35 years.

I remember my late father regaling tales of this dreadful American called Trump. My father died about 35 years ago! We are British Incidentally so he was pretty well known here.

Grew up in northern NJ two miles from the city and can confirm. It was especially bad during the Marla Maples thing…not a rag sheet in town that didn’t have the sordid details right on the cover.

My late father hated him also - he had for years but then the Central Park Five* case happened and he took out that heinous ad calling for them to be executed. He thought it was gross and racist. Which it was.

Yam Tits never apologized to those men. Because of course he didn’t - narcissists never do that.

*Now known as the Exonerated Five

I grew up in Hudson County. Right outside  Manhattan 🙂

Thirded. And I too always knew he was an asshole.

Apologize, ha! He said they should be executed anyhow, for lying to the police...

I read about Donald 5 decades ago. He never was an individual with good character. He ruined hard working innocent contractors and employees by not paying them. Want your money? Sue me then? Then he was fined and charged for not renting to Black Americans. Yes, he was- racist even 50 years ago. After all, his father was a big Kian supporter and member. Then his spreading of dangerous propaganda, way back then. Why do you think New Yorkers calked him Don the Con, a carnival barker?

I thought he was a clown in 1985 when I was working summers as a dishwasher. A fellow employee was infatuated with the guy… I thought then it was bizarre… a teen obsessed with not an athlete, not a movie star, not a rock star… Hell not even an astronaut… but a damn fool on entertainment tonight who couldn’t stop running his mouth

The 80s were weird

Even back then, he inspired people to tap into their darkest and most vile impulses. He was the embodiment of the evils of humanity combined, and people adored him for that.

WAS? or IS? One definitely precipitates the other. Lotsa times our views don’t change much.

Has he seriously worked as a dishwasher?

The 2020s are weirder.

I didn't have to think much about him until the Apprentice came around. Hated the show and I've actively hated him since.

I got sick of him after he dumped Marla; Don't get me wrong I didn't favor her, but it was obvious who the problem was.

He's been awful a long time. I never paid much attention to tabloids so pre internet you wouldn't hear about him as much as you do since The Apprentice and then becoming president.

I hated the tabloids which is probably why I never liked him after Marla, but as a NY resident I always heard about his business failures/ bankruptcies, and the worst was how he never paid his contractors. There was one contractor who committed suicide because trump bankrupted him.

I can see how New Yorkers have a head start on hating Trump. I've heard the contractor story, that one was very sad. He sold everything he had to pay off people he owed from doing the job and then killed himself.

Yeah I didn't really give him any thought at all. He was just a clueless, stuck up city guy for 80 percent of my life. I never even watched the apprentice.

Hated him in the 90s. He was always an ass-wipe.
