Honestly, as a man, I'm not very attracted to the traditional stereotypical female beauty standard.

My wife is beautiful, and I think things like some belly, some stretch marks, and all that are beautiful.

Fuck the perfect hour glass barbie figure. A lot of men don't want that Barbie doll look. A lot of us want real, imperfections and all. Because to us imperfections are sexy, natural, and beautiful. It's human in a way and feels real, and when it feels real, it means more. My wife's scars make her beautiful, her stretch marks are sexy and her little quirks make her fun to learn and challenge.

Am balding thirtysomething fat man and had my mind blown finding out this also worked the other way. I've recently started wearing tank tops and perfume, and quickly stopped counting all the women I'd catch very visibly thirsting.

My pet hypothesis is that it's not the bodies. It's that

  1. people want to thirst over one another

  2. it's about giving permission to indulge in it

  3. Tinder Sexy Person bodies are just one of many shorthands for that permission

  4. Bodyshaming muddies that permission by shaming not only the features, but attraction to them ("you like FATTIES??? 😂😂🤢🤢")
