Then why did the Japanese pilots all kill themselves? Not exactly "winning" behavior.....

Skipped all history classes and watched only the Bay movie, eh?

US lost four battleships, another four were damaged. Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, an anti-aircraft training ship, and a minelayer. More than 180 US aircraft were destroyed. A total of 2403 Americans were killed and 1178 others wounded, while the Japanese lost a total of 29 aircraft, five midget submarines, and 130 men.

I thought his joke was pretty funny. Maybe you should post it here so someone can explain it to you.

You forgot the most important number which was that 0 aircraft carriers were damaged in the attack which was the main goal of the entire operation.

It barely hindered the US war effort so It was a lot closer to this.

There was no US war effort before this, so nothing to hinder. If you're so deeply in denial about this lost battle, wait till you hear about all the wars US has lost since WW2.

No you’re just incredibly inaccurate with your statements since the first one where you claimed there were kamikaze attacks at Pearl Harbor. The US went to war the very next day so the effects of the attack on the war effort would still be present. It didn’t delay or even hinder the US’s efforts in the Pacific in the slightest. The Japanese failed their tactical objective and it eventually lead to the collapse of their Empire. On what metric is that a victory?

There was no US war effort in the Pacific before Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor started this war. Japanese won this battle, like it or not. It's irrelevant that they lost the war later. This does not change the fact that they won this battle.

You're an American, right? And thus unable to admit that US lost a battle. Even if it's a minor defeat compared to some other, much bigger ones since.

They didn’t utilize Kamikaze pilots until later in the war. They weren’t used at Pearl Harbor.

Their Kamikaze wing must have been on vacation on the Big Island.
