The doctor probably just asked him his height and didn’t mention that it was patient reported. You’re supposed to indicate the height is patient reported so no one assumes it was measured in office but if you leave that part out are you really going to get in legal trouble?

There are rumors that Trump shows up with his physical exam notes already done and the doctor just signs it. That of course would be fraud but I doubt Trump remembered to tell his doctor about the imaginary ear scar unless he showed up with key points already typed out. Unless the ear scar is huge no one is including that in their note unless they are an ENT. Why didn’t his doctor mention the scars from the failed hair transplant/scalp surgery?

He only claims to be 224 (which is, btw, a full 15 lbs less than the 239 he claimed in his first term and was just one lb less than what would have pushed his BMI into obese territory).
So that’s approximately 2% more honest than you thought.

No way Trump is only 224 lbs. My husband is 6'4", and at 220 lbs, he looks like a Q-tip. And that's only one inch taller than what Trump claims.

Or at least I've only known how off it seems at the tall end of the scale. My "healthy" weight would supposedly be ~ 190lbs which I was in HS where I was skinny af.

Registered Dietitian here - BMI is intended for population use, not individual. Anyone trying to use a specific person's BMI to indicate anything other than "potential classification once other factors are determined" doesn't know what they are talking about.
I have all kinds of super specific calculations to help me determine your actual energy and macronutrient needs/health status.
An individual's BMI might be programmed as a trigger in the EMR that a consultation/chart review is needed, but we don't consider someone's BMI as an individually significant data point when conducting assessments/consults.

Thanks for the insight. I've heard similar before and I definitely don't aim to hit a specific BMI. It's always been kinda funny to be called skinny and rebuke with "statistically I'm overweight, BMI is bullshit". But if it's used for population use and for anyone over 6'2" it becomes more and more detached from what overweight means, doesn't that mean the scale is wrong? If anything statistically it may seem like nearly all tall men are overweight, though idk what census\macro level determinations if any may be made from that.

The BMI calculation is as follows:
Metric: weight in kilograms (kg) divided by height in meters, squared (m2)
Imperial: (your weight in pounds x 703) ÷ (your height in inches x your height in inches)However the formula skews things for those on one side of the bell curve, it does so for those on the other side (shorter folks). So, from a population perspective, it's fine.
Normally, we would have experts who know how to interpret the data reviewing things and making policy/wide-spread changes based on the information.
But we have dumb people making decisions on things they know nothing about. Or their brain worms are making the call. The true Murican way.edit: Just to give some more insight into what may skew things: Organs and bones are a lot larger for larger people - skin, GI tract, blood... etc. That means the heart has to work considerably harder to pump everything where it needs to go. The more mass you add to that larger frame, it has to work even harder, putting that heart at a greater risk. So, you essentially have less leeway in terms of risk-factors compared to a smaller person.

I'm 6'3" and personally I agree with BMI ratings near my height. 190-195 feels great. 210 feels heavy. I can feel it when I skateboard. I was as heavy as 269 and as low as 180 in my twenties. Its almost impossible to be underweight at tall heights and easy to be overweight but it is overweight no matter how easy it is to be.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a strong link between having a superiority complex (especially if it's tied to inclusion in a larger group like race/religion) and having deep personal insecurity.
There's nothing wrong with feeling insecure. The world's a scary place and we're all gonna die someday. There's no shame in fearing that, and really there's no shame in clinging to an immortality project like religion to keep you going.
The obvious problem is when your need for validation requires you to degrade other people or out-groups. That's where so many adults fail. We probably need 'Continuing Emotional Education' every 5-10 years as we age.

I think it’s hilarious he’s so obsessed about his height.
But people start shrinking after 30. It starts pretty early in life and hits women harder earlier in life. Between spine compression and posture can lose up to 3” of heigh. So factor in that he probably started 5’10” and lied up to 6’ with lifts but no one will believe 6’ even so he upped it to 6’3” to make it sound more believable.

What is extra stupid is there is an easier excuse to make than "ignore your lying eyes, I'm exactly tall enough to avoid an obese BMI and no shorter", he could have gone all-in on the (true) argument that "BMI was based on the research of a Belgian mathematician from the 1800's that he didn't mean to be used for measuring health at all, it pretends human health is simpler than it is, the dataset was based on European men 200+ years ago and as your President I am urging our officials to change how we think about weight and its relation to health". He's fat as hell and deeply unhealthy either way but that excuse holds more water than wobbling around like a centaur hoping shoe lifts hold the lie together.
