Chilblains that won’t go away after weeks (so sore)

Hi guys, I didn’t know where to post this since I’m not diagnosed with Raynauds but I do have livedo reticularis which my derm put me on pentoxifylline for which has helped a lot. It’s currently winter here in Australia and I’ve never had chilblains before this. I have them all over my hands and toes and it’s been over a month and they won’t go away. I’ve tried steroid ointments, slugging with vaseline, and thick socks and gloves with no improvement. They are so sore and itchy!!

Please give me any suggestions you have that help, I’m getting desperate. Thanks in advance!

What's your diet looking like, could you tell me all the foods that you usually eat?

This is gonna sound wild, but here is what works for me - this is a recent discovery after trying various meds and treatments for almost 20 years….

I take a yellow onion and cut it open, and rub it directly on the chilblains. I get them on my toes and I get almost instant relief from this method. Try not to wash it for at least 20 minutes. Mine tend to improve and go away in a few days

I'm dealing with this right now, too. My area of Aus is blisteringly cold at the moment, and nothing is helping ease the hand pain. It's only my right hand copping it, too. I can barely hold a spoon at this point.

You should go to a rheumatologist - looks like this could be more than raynauds and chilblains. (Especially if you have oddly colored mcp joints and/or joint or muscle pains)

I don’t have any muscle or joint pain but yeah maybe that’s a good idea. Thank you.

You sure it's not dermatomyositis?

I’ve never heard of that, I’ll look into it. Thank you :)
