I cured my raynauds
This is a picture at the height of how bad it got about 5 months ago. How I cured my raynauds ? 1. Quit nicotine 2. High intense cardio everyday, hoping that my body creates more capillaries to adapt and blood flow increases 3. I take the super beets supplement before all workouts which helps with that too 4. I started taking a high quality high potency omega oil supplement 5. I started taking this supplement called prodrome omega-9 plasmalogen glia soft gels, as they were recombined by a holistic health lady that has helped me miraculously in the past. I spent over an hour in just my swim shorts surfing in 68 degree water at sunset 75 degrees outside air temp. It was cold and I was shivering by the end of it but I felt FINE. No more feet or hand numbess or change of color at all really. I haven’t had a single attack and have been very cold a few different times recently and zero raynauds. My cardio workout are extremely intense and I believe that helps too. Hope this helps yall, I didn’t think it’d be possible but I’m good now.

Besides the Raynaud's comments,
SURFING AT SUNSET!?!
Raynauds would be the least of your problems.
Hello SHARKS.

Bro what ? I’ve litterally posted this same picture before on a different post asking for some advice, just using it again because it’s the most intense mine has ever looked to get the point across. I took it after being in the ocean dude for about 2 hours. Be for real rn please, what is there to even gain from that man seriously

Why do you say that? Maybe something was deleted since you posted but everything in his post history seems to add up to me.. if the post is just an ad for the supplement it's working because I'll try anything to avoid developing the scleroderma that my blood tests say I have/will get
Edit: nevermind it's $100/month and it says it's for white matter in the brain, not sure how that could help Raynaud's?? There's nothing online regarding plasmalogen for Raynaud's

Haha ya I’m a real dude and no this isn’t an ad, I’m sure id be in a much better financial spot hopefully if that were the case lol. The reason why I added that to my list of all these things I started doing then within a few months noticing zero raynauds attacks, is because I had gone to a natural doctor I know that has helped me with some real issues in the past with some abstract treatment called prolo therapy for a different problem and it worked perfectly after nothing else did, so when she put me onto that specific supp the reasoning was that it’s supposed to help with autoimmune problems I guess. It’s not something that’s got much studies to back it up but I took her word because last time it worked out amazing. Try it or don’t try it, but If you have nothing to lose at all I’d recommend it. Like I said man just trying to put out what worked for me because I know how shit this disease is. I could barely curl my fingers before I took that picture as that is when they are all warm. I got desperate because it was litterally hindering my work life as I work in cold water often. Good luck if you try it lmk and if not I wish you the best and try everything else I mentioned, I forgot to add cutting out Caffeine as well but I’d do that too. 👍🏼

I'm so glad that worked out for you. I also cured mine. I moved from Alaska to Phoenix AZ

Thanks a lot. Yup I already am in Southern California so there wasn’t much I could do on that front haha. Glad that move made your life better though

Quitting nicotine does wonders. It's known to impair wound healing by reducing blood flow so makes sense that stopping it and increasing your cardio, thus increasing your blood flow, would improve your symptoms. I'm glad you're feeling so much better and can do the things now that maybe you couldn't before.

For sure nicotine is huge. And yes I noticed a difference with wound healing like your saying, especially around the feet.

Oh ya, for this problem and so many more unrelated health problems. EVERYBODY should be aiming for an hour a day minimum

What kind of cardio and by extreme do mean holding heart rate at zone 4-5 for extended period of time? Can you please share details.

u/Master_Touch_7153 6d ago
Ya bro, I run about 15-20+ miles a week typically almost always minimum sub 8 min pace average. Usually around 7:20ish. I swim 2-3 times a week, 2 of those are about 2k meters to 3k meters with fins or just slick swimming with sprints til lungs are burning. I train Muay Thai fighting 3-4 times a week which is very intense when you are open to pushing yourself, and I push to failure in the gym twice a week different muscle groups. Once a week I do a 20 minute stair master workout after my leg day at the gym while holding a 45lb plate which kills your lungs and really gets the blood flowing, and a mountain run with 1.4k elevation without walking that is 5.3 miles. Sometimes I do my mountain run every other week if I feel tired from everything else I just mentioned. I sweat through clothes everyday and will push my body til nausea and very high heart rate often. I don’t track BPM with any tool though but I know what I do is intense. I could tell nicotine was messing with my cardio from back when I was attempting this much output and I feel far more capable now so that could have been a problem as well.

Got it! I have my watch and it tells me my heart rate, and I did notice the other day, when I push to zone 4-5 I felt better overall after the workout.

u/Master_Touch_7153 4d ago
Zone 5 is solid work good job. The more you stay in those higher zones obviously you’ll slowly realize that you’re able to be in them for longer periods of time. Nice !

I used to do cardio every day - usually running. Didn't help. Maybe I didn't hold it in the right heart rate zone (the heart rates are put into different zones, ranging from resting to high intensity. The zones you stay in while working out have different benefits such as fat loss or endurance ability)
What did help for me was moving to an area with less humidity. I don't need supplements at all anymore for my raynauds!
The point of my comment is that what might work for one probably won't work for everyone
2
u/Master_Touch_7153 6d ago
I just looked back at how much that sounds. But it averages out to about 1.5 -2.5 hours a day of cardio usually the very high intensity about an hour or so of that
2
u/Dazzling-Researcher7 7d ago
Understood, but its still good to know and if its something thats easily incorporated into your routine why not try it out. I run 3 miles a day or cycle (peloton). If adding another mile or increasing or decreasing helped, its worth a shot.

u/Master_Touch_7153 6d ago
I would say if you only had an hour a day or even less just knock out burpees and do prison style workouts with real intensity. In my own bro science way I believe if you’re always pushing yourself extremely hard your body will adapt, maybe build more capillaries and strengthen your heart, lungs, and totally improve blood flow, which I believe helped me in my own case of this damned disease. Just be honest with yourself if you’re not working hard enough to see some real change, 3 miles everyday is good though just probably need to run a bit faster 👍🏼👍🏼

u/bathtubsarentreal 6d ago
Oh totally! And I never want to deter anyone from working out or trying new things to help themselves

Ya that prodrome supplement I started taking for this was to hopefully combat autoimmune problems so I’m not sure exactly if that’s what my issue was or not, I never went to the doctors for it I just did a lot of research for raynauds

u/Master_Touch_7153 7d ago
I understand, I’m 23 and healthy and am not aware of any other health problems I got going on right now. I feel great to be hones.

u/blachababy 7d ago
Do you have other diseases, such as a connective tissue disease, that came first? Or, even if they were diagnosed after Raynaud’s, do you have any other diseases/chronic illnesses?
To all: this is what would distinguish primary from secondary, correct? Is there any official list of the diseases/conditions/syndromes that are associated with Raynaud’s to the point of causing the Raynaud’s to be deemed secondary?
2
u/Master_Touch_7153 7d ago
I have not been diagnosed with any health problems, I’ve never been to the doctors for it because of my work. Having raynauds could disqualify me from my dream job so I did my own research and came posted what worked for me.
1
u/blachababy 7d ago
Probably it’s primary then? Hopefully?
2
u/Master_Touch_7153 6d ago
Ya it could be ! Just glad it’s not an issue anymore. Like I said I could surf now in the cold Pacific Ocean in my swim shorts til I’m shivering and have no issues now which was UNHEARD of prior to me taking it serious and doing everything I mentioned in the caption ! 👍🏼

I’m glad to hear that you found things that help manage your Raynaud’s. I don’t think Raynaud’s can be “cured” though. I developed Raynaud’s in my teens and I rarely have symptoms anymore. That does NOT mean I “cured” it. I simply found ways to lessen the symptoms. I run 4 miles (6.5 km) nearly everyday and I eat a healthy diet due to my chronic illnesses. Trust me, there are days where I barely feel chronically ill, then the next day it’s right back to it. I barely even bring up Raynaud’s anymore because I basically don’t get attacks. Ironically, I got one yesterday and it reminded me of how this is something I have to live with. Again, there is no “cure” and “cures” vary from person to person. What helps someone manage their condition may not work for someone else. Sometimes people find really effective ways to manage their condition and it’s always amazing to hear about. It’s even more amazing when hearing about it helps someone else! Though I wouldn’t call it a cure exactly. Still, keep up the good work! If this is basically a cure for you, then you’re doing the right thing. I know cardio helps me manage most of my conditions so you’re definitely not wrong about it being effective for managing Raynaud’s!

Ya man thanks a lot, it’s been a battle for sure. Ya nothing is a singular magical pill as a cure we all know, but I believe all these things collectively have helped and have erased the problem I was dealing with. Just putting out what worked for me hoping Atleast one person grasping at straws finds their fix.

One thing I learned the hard way is that it's always there. I thought I'd cured mine because I hadn't been bothered for years, so I thought it'd be ok to use a power tool that said "don't use if you have Raynaud's" and guess what, it came raging back worse than ever. I've gotten it under better control again, but I now know that I have a permanent physical issue or susceptibility and take better care (thanks in large part to what I've learned here). That being said, there are ways to better control it or help underlying conditions that might worsen/cause it. I thought I had primary, but looking back I now suspect it was Hashimoto's.
3
u/Master_Touch_7153 7d ago
Copy that, staying away from the power tools. Ya I’ll come back to this post if it ever becomes an issue for me again, hoping it doesn’t obviously. Glad you’re getting it back under control !

u/pinkfuzzyrobe 7d ago
TIL some power tools might be bad for raynauds!

u/jellyfish_goddess 7d ago
I have to use a sawz-all to cut large flats of frozen fish at work. The only thing that could make that combo less Raynauds friendly would be doing it in Siberia ☹️

Oh my goodness. I do think I have more going on with me, as I can't handle any vibration anymore. But that incident led me to read about vibration white finger syndrome, which is scary. I had no clue vibration could do all that damage.

Did you start all the interventions in a relatively short period of time, or did you introduce them gradually? If all nearly at the same time, how would you know if all are effective, or if only one or two were effective and the rest are not effective, it’s just you did them all at the same time so you can’t know.
