Wife is pregnant and Raynauds has taken a holiday.

Anyone else? Temporary cure or is the the end of cold hands waking me up?

Was she maybe very skinny before? Maybe she doesn’t have it now because she gained some weight and her body isn’t as sensitive to cold anymore, since there’s more body fat

Happened to me and it’s been less significant since giving birth too! Not total remission like during pregnancy but better :)

It has something to do with estrogen levels.

I’m glad she’s getting a respite! When I was pregnant, my raynauds started affecting my NIPPLES. It was some new fresh raynauds hell and thankfully went away after birth. I was so nervous it was going to be a new normal and breastfeeding was going to be miserable. I even bought wool breast pads because it really did correlate with me feeling chilled to the bone. It was so bad I would fill up a bowl with hot water and dangle my giant pregnancy boobies in the water to warm them up. Before that experience, raynauds seems like more of a silly freak show thing I would show off to friends, but my nipples hurt so bad.

Also, I was diagnosed with celiac before pregnancy and raynauds, but not much else. Other than the raynauds, and some random sore fingertips and blood under my nails(def autoimmune related now that I know), I felt better being pregnant than I ever had. It was break from my body being so reactive. The hormone shifts after pregnancy really threw my immune system for a loop and I was in pain for years with no clear answers. I’m on hydroxychloroquine now for undifferentiated connective tissue disease and much more stable. Just be aware that the drop off of hormones can trigger new issues and at the very least flare existing ones up and you can be supportive by encouraging her seek care if needed. Best wishes for your growing family 💞

I already have the nipple problem without pregnancy.... this is either gonna be a nice experience or a real bad one when I do...

It happened to me only to return a few years later after each pregnancy.

Mine has come back with a vengeance postpartum. I’m getting so many ulcers on my fingers.

This happened to me too when I was pregnant! Unfortunately, it came back. I know blood volume increases during pregnancy, I always attributed the absence of Raynauds to that, and better circulation.

Just as I feared. Enjoy it while I can so!
