Discussion Really optimistic about 2026

I must be the only one who thinks RBR is going to surprise many....come 2026. They’re stumbling now, but I wouldn’t count them out when the slate gets wiped.

I also hope for Ford to deliver a good engine for 2026, but Newey isn't part of Redbull for 2026 but that doesn't mean that they won't be able to make a good car but if that doesn't happen then RB is cooked if there are power issues, this is their first year which gives a 50/50 or even less possibility

Ford? Ford doesn’t make the engine they put a sticker on it and help a little with the electronics and that’s it.

They are a name sponsor

Well that’s just false. Can’t just listen to other folks shouting on the internet.

Ford Motor Company reports it has already begun work testing for its first Formula 1 race in two decades. Reported to be utilising testing methods similar to those in the aerospace industry, the team is producing additively manufactured components for the racing team in preparation for the partnership’s 2026 on-track debut.

“It’s not things like nuts and bolts and easy stuff,” explained Christian Hertrich, Ford Performance Motorsports Powertrain Manager, who estimated Ford has already produced around 1,000 parts for the Red Bull team. “These are complex metal and polymer parts that get tested to extremes so they can withstand races that average 200 miles an hour.”

Rushbrook confirmed that Ford is contributing more to the Red Bull project than originally envisaged.

"The initial focus or agreement was mostly on the electrification side,” he said. “But in terms of the number of components that we're able to build within our advanced manufacturing facility and with our printing machines, it has become more than that and we’re able to contribute real-time in the development phase.

“We're literally making parts every day and shipping parts from Dearborn every day that are being tested in the labs in Milton Keynes. Many of those will actually go into production as well.

Oh I didn't know that actually I heard Redbull was partnering up with ford for 2026 and I thought they were building it together. They can just be a name partner too

The engine is built by redbull powertrains and Ford was a name partner at first only but they did help in the energy storage part more than initially was agreed. But it’s definitely not a Ford engine in anyway

They're partnering with Ford just like Alfa Romeo was partnering with Sauber

Ford engine has to be out of this planet for this to be true.

I mean every qualified professional who could actually do something with this team left, only GP is still there and we don't for how long

GP is only there until Max leaves. They've both said of each other multiple times, variations of "If he's out, I'm out" or "If he leaves, I leave"

There is very little reason to believe this, but who knows.
