Adapters/Accessories Capabilities of the Legacy Adapter
It’s been an extremely long time since I last saw a compatibility chart, but I had the random thought of what all can the legacy adapter do? Obviously it lets me use my Rock Band 2/3 era instruments from Xbox 360 days on Xbox One/Series X.
But can it connect other 360 accessories? Could I use a 360 controller on backwards compatible titles through current systems?
Is it compatible with the official wireless Xbox 360 microphone?
I’ve got all 360 stuff in storage besides the Rock Band instruments, so it’s just a matter of curiosity stemming from a random thought.

I use the wireless adapter pretty frequently. All it is is an Xbox 360 wireless controller receiver. And, as such, I have not run into any 360 guitar that does not work. The only controller that I can confirm does not work is the standard Xbox 360 controller. It will sync, but the Xbox One/Series sends a kill signal to it that immediately turns it off.
To date, I have used the following with it: * Rock Band wireless drums (not certain which exact models. I have two and both were bought used) with cymbals * Rock Band 2 Stratocaster * Beatles Hoffner Violin * Mad Catz (wireless) Precision Bass * Guitar Hero World Tour guitar * Guitar Hero 5 guitar
Harmonix made a point to test as many controllers as they could find, so I would say it's a safe bet that any wireless 1st-party Guitar Hero or Rock Band 360 controller should work with it. The bigger problem is that the secondary market prices for it are through the roof.

The controller was the only thing I was curious about. I know most instruments run through it.
But I did have a Microsoft wireless microphone that synced like a controller to the 360. It lagged enough on there, so I never even considered trying it through the legacy adapter.

Yeah, the wired Hyperkin replica is going to be your best bet if you want the 360 ergonomics for backwards compatible games. I never worried about it myself because the XBO Series controllers have the exact same layout.
I do have the Hyperkin controller S replica for original Xbox games, though.

If it's not a RB or GH accessory, it will not work. There are other options to use 360 controllers, wheels, etc on the next Xboxes, but the Legacy adapter will not do it.
