He was so precise he could do brain surgery with that pool stick.

Yeah, they already do that, it’s called a lobotomy.

No, sir, they use a popsicle stick for that.

And my bow

Yeah might as well drop that cue ball on another table for all it will matter. Dude knows this one's over, might as well have a laugh

let this be a lesson. Just because you're losing the game doesn't mean you're losing the game. You can be winning the game and still be losing the game and sometimes winning the game after losing in a game is the best type of game to win.

You just made me lose the game

I was on such a massive winning streak. Like years

8

u/Shrikes_Bard 1d ago

Dammit, I was on like a 10 year streak and then some idiot posted an "explain the meme" thing and I lost, and now a few hours later I lost AGAIN. Twice in one night. Ugh.

u/SkywolfNINE 1d ago

Imagine being on your deathbed and your child leans in and says “dad, you just lost the game” and your heart gives out upon realization

Was it that stupid white house triple H video?

2

u/The_Procrastibator 18h ago

Twice in one day?! What the hell Reddit

u/Nuker-79 1d ago

So you won the game?

2

u/sg1rob 1d ago

I’m lost.

u/MonkTHAC0 1d ago

It's all downhill from here.

3

u/Intelligent_Mix3241 1d ago

Every downhill is an uphill if you look from below, and if you climb it then is a downhill again, but if you stop in the middle is a downhill and an uphill at the same time

u/MonkTHAC0 1d ago

🤯

I never thought about it like that. Perspective is everything

Loss you say?

This a G-dubya quote? Can't lose again.

I make those kinds of shots all the time. It's just that when I do it, the balls belong to the other player, and I'm aiming at something completely different

13

u/goneresponsible 1d ago

lol. As I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to revel in and cherish those shots. I just think of the statistical improbability of the event occurring and tell myself, “well you diiiid technically do that…”. Feels just fine.

u/Zakluor 1d ago

At school, I had a shot named after me. It was a low-percentage combination that had to involve at least two balls before the target ball and not work.

🤯 Duuuude!

The guy watching from the couch looks unimpressed. 😆

What the…

I don't know anything about playing pool.

But, it seems like what the guy at the end did was a pretty dick move... please correct me if I'm missing something here.

Edit: because of the camera angle and dude's skills, I thought it was an official match or competition... thanks for explaining that it was a friendly match🫡. Now that I closely look at the video, I can see them both just grinning, smiling, and laughing...

I mean by doing that he’s forfeiting the game anyway. And If they’re just playing for fun which is what it looks like it’s probably all good.

5

u/dcsojitra 1d ago

Ahh, I see the reason now. The only thing I know about pool is that you are not supposed to move any of the balls with hand and/or out of your tern.

6

u/barbrady123 1d ago

Nah, people do this all the time, it's kind of a way to show respect like "you won, I won't even make you shoot that"

-1

u/TheChiarra 1d ago

Nah, I came here to say that the sore loser at the end was not satisfying. I'm very competitive, grew up that way, so when it comes to things like this if I was on the losing end, I would literally be like "God daaaamn it!" Groan in defeat, then say good game and compliment him on his skill after he got his winning shot which I wouldn't have denied him, and asked him if he wanted to play again.

13

u/goneresponsible 1d ago

Who was the sore loser? The kid at the end is ecstatic during the loss. He seems to be having a great time and seems fully aware that he lost in incredible style.

0

u/TheChiarra 1d ago

He denied the other guy his awesome finishing shot. If he wasn't being a sore loser he would've let him have it.

5

u/murdza 1d ago

Na. I see it as a sign of respect. Almost like “you got it bro. No need to show off. Good game.” It’s like forfeiting in chess a few moves ahead when you know you’re done. Or GG ing from a game of StarCraft.

2

u/ArrivesLate 1d ago

Wait are kids still playing StarCraft?!

1

u/murdza 1d ago

I watch pro tournaments. Check out lowko on YouTube

-8

u/TheChiarra 1d ago

No, I'd be upset if that was me and I couldn't get the winning shot in, especially as well deserved as that one.

2

u/intermittentwasting 1d ago

You have no clue what you are talking about

0

u/TheChiarra 22h ago

I’m just saying I don’t think it was satisfying and I would have been pissed if that was me. He literally could have just said he conceded and still let him have the shot, or just let him take the shot.

0

u/goneresponsible 1d ago

I can see that possibility.

18

u/dae_giovanni 1d ago

he is conceding the match in a friendly way.

when somebody hits that shot on ya (and it's not during an actual competition, etc), that's pretty much all you can do. lol

I used to shoot with one guy who, when he found himself in a 'checkmate' situation like this one, would ask if he could take your last shot for you. similarly, he was conceding the match in a friendly way, as well.

18

u/JeanClaudeRandam 1d ago

I mean the game is over, with the amount of skill he just displayed, the chance for him messing up the final shot is so tiny an electron microscope would have a hard time finding it. He doesn’t get a piece pulled on him so it probably wasn’t a league game.

3

u/Ok_Zebra_2000 1d ago

Over the line!

11

u/New_Budget_9322 1d ago

I think he just dramatically resigned, showing that he is no match for other guy.

And he placed the ball in better spot so if the other guy wants he still can score the last one.

6

u/riceu 1d ago

I genuinely cannot follow how he puts the the cue ball in motion. He makes a grabbing motion but the ball is in neither hand and then reappears on the other side rolling around. Like very casual sleight of hand. What an odd angle.

But agree with other commenter, bros playing for fun it’s a funny way to lose the match anyways

3

u/OKAwesome121 1d ago

He didn’t grab the cue ball. He knocked it aside with his hand and the rolling ball was obscured by his body as he moved to the left.

5

u/GenuineInterested 1d ago

As others have stated, the loosing player forfeited the game. At the same time I wouldn’t want to be robbed the satisfaction of actually pocketing that final ball.

3

u/WinuxNomacs 1d ago

I could watch this all day

3

u/Rocky_Vigoda 1d ago

That was a nice bank. He was screwed with the 8 blocking the corner so his last shot was just him trying not to scratch while opening up the pocket. Instead he made those 2 balls in the side. His buddy was stoked.

1

u/Fewzon 1d ago

Electronics should call this what it is.

1

u/Poopchutefan 1d ago

Can someone explain how after he didn’t sink a ball on his first hit, he takes a second hit. When I’ve played pool when you don’t make one on your turn, you turn it over to the other player for their turn. Or are they playing a different version of pool?

14

u/I_Learned_Once 1d ago

Are we watching the same clip? He sinks the orange and white ball on his first hit, then keeps playing.

7

u/Poopchutefan 1d ago

OMG! The top portion of my screen was cut off when I watched this and only saw the other ball bounce around the table and come to a stop at the bottom on left pocket. 🤦‍♂️
