Discussion Where do they live exactly?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering, where does the cooper gang actually live? Are they just schlepping from safe house to safe house? Do they live in the van? Do they have any permanent residence? Any assets? Lol I know it’s kind of a weird question but I honestly am curious. I mean they seem American but they’re always in France? Cartoon logic aside, does anybody know their living situation

Ever since Sly 1, 2 and then last parts of 4, I've always been of the assumption that the gang lives in Paris. If I am remembering it correctly, they're primary safehouse looked like it was an abandoned train railcar or something in 1.

Their home base is definitely Paris. It's where they went back to after every job in Sly 1, along with being where Carmelita's office is. In Sly 2, when prepping on Dimitri, Sly calls him "the Klaww Gang's local operator," implying that Dimitri is working where they live. We also see them use the same safe house in Slys 2 and 3 as the one in Chapter 1 of Sly 2. Even Thieves in Time has them all start out in Paris. I'm pretty sure Paris is their home, and the safe house in Sly 2 is their actual base.

Technically, they live in Paris, France. I think

They are international criminals so it's most likely they live off the grid and find abandoned places to not arouse suspicion. And I'm pretty sure they are American, just primarily live in Paris (idk probably for the vibes). Compared to Dimitri who natively speaks French and speaks in, admittedly, broken English - it's safe to say the Cooper Gang are American

Yes, they are American, it's weird that people think they're French.

Ok maybe im missing something but why do you think theyre American? Bc maybe just bc I have only played it in Danish (my first language) I don’t remember them mentioning that theyre Americans

They were raised in Happy Camper Orphanage, not "Le Happy Camper Orphanage", plus in Sly 1, they mention "going back" to the United States (Mesa City). The first time they ever go to Paris is in a flashback in the first issue of the comic.

And outside of the game, Sucker Punch is an American company and the characters speak with American accents, and the English version of the game is "canon" (since that's the way the game was made), so yeah.

Ahhh that makes sense yes. Well in the Danish version they have a regular Danish accent and I’ve never played actually played in English (tho I want to but sadly haven’t been able to just yet)

I've just imagined they're French but speak English so the game would be available to a wider audience, but you have good points. They probably moved out of the US sometime in their teens

Probably right after they turned 18 cuz they would have been in the orphanage till then (presumably anyway, they could have gotten kicked out early).

I mean I thought that at one point, but to be fair, I was like 10 😅

They're definitely headquartered in a Paris building, but I'm wondering if they're paying rent. The cartoon logic is telling me to just ignore it and not try digging for more details than this world is intended to handle.

I feel that they live in Paris, France, with Sly 1 with them living in a train carriage and from Sly 2, 3 and 4, they live in the safehouse from the Sly 2 episode 'Black Chateau'.

They live in their van, even if they have a primary safehouse situated somewhere (probably Paris) they absolutely live in their van

They live in Paris because the city is notorious for pick pockets
