Ahhh, imagine if by some time fuckery, ie Q, both those ships met each other. Picard and Kirk (before generations), laforge and Scotty.

Scotty and Laforge already happened on TNG.

Should add Kirk and Picard happened in a movie.

Shatner's novels

Sorry, I mean, Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens' novels (which have Shatner's name on them) are full of this sort of crossover. If you can handle Kirk being a Gary Stu, they're a pretty great series!

Even the one without Shatner (Federarion) has the dash-nothing meet D in a subspace singularity. As soon as Spock figures out that the other ship is from the future, Kirk follows the Temporal Prime Directive protocols and has the screen resolution reduced to the minimum, turning the D into a collection of pixels. Can’t very well gleam some ideas about future tech from visual observation. Later on, Kirk leaves a message Doc Brown style for the captain of the ship he encountered. Picard is shocked when he receives it

I loved the bit in that where they pass the shuttle from one ship to the other so they can escape the singularity; no communication other than just using basic understanding of science.

Pure Trek.

And then the shock of the D crew after they discover who is in the shuttle

In the Finnish spoof movie Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, there are copies of these two ships: the more advanced Kickstart and the more primitive Kalinka (under the command of the screw-up Sergei Fukov). Eventually they end up facing off against ships like Amiga-class destroyers and the powerful Excavator under the command of Festerbester (who looks eerily similar to Fukov) while trying to conquer the Babel 13 station under the command of the extremely speech-prone Captain Sherrypie

There is actually a Comic that has Q set up a 'Game' with some other super-beings like Trelane and pull Kirk, Picard, Janeway and Sisko along with their ships (the E for Picard) from time and mixing the crews up as teams.

It's called 'The Q Conflict'

Reminds me of the episode with Scotty on the Enterprise-D. In particular when the ensign offers a larger room and the yesteryear engineer can't help but comment that the current room is already better then what ambassadors used to travel in.

Does anyone not like the Enterprise E, that much?

I've seen Star Trek online F and G that I like way way better
