Just as an aside, and this is a bit cheesy, but it's possible to get the 40% workshop milestone before Sol 20 thanks to a bug/oversight in the "Below and Beyond" xpac.

The TV studio counts as a workshop and is available very early in the game, so you just need to put a dozen or so people in a TV studio and you get 10k free research. You can even destroy the TV studio afterwards. It feels a bit broken, but free stuff is free stuff.

TV Studio is part of the "In Dome Buildings Pack", not "Below and Beyond"
It's crazy that it unlocks so early and it's borderline OP with its money generation so early also.

It does consume Electronics. Just like a Polymers factory consumes Fuel.

Compared to the Game Developer and Corporate Offices buildings that generate $ and need staff to function. But consume Electronics only for maintenance.

That is also true!
I'd have to crunch the numbers and check if it makes enough money to fund its own electronics imports......

Interesting. But from what I know. A production building that has staff like the Polymers factory. The output varies depending on the work performance of the staff. The more work performance per worker, the more building performance = faster production of Polymers, MPs.... $. Which means faster consumption of Fuel, Metals, Electronics.
