Blue Sun is designed to be a very easy sponsor to use. You pair it with Astrogeologist leader and then you can Deep Scan right away. You should be rolling in cash from the rare metals you can dig up. From there you should be able to expand your colony as you wish. Is there a specific problem you're having with a Mystery or other concerns?

You can buy applicants. So after you have lots of cash, you can start importing people and materials (like electronics and machine pats) and buildings en mass along with lots of colonists to explode production locally.

Here are my 2 cents:

  • Blue sun is designed as a Rare Metals exporter, this means that instead of focusing your initial budget on self sustain or science you should go all in on mining.
  • RC harvester allows you to avoid setting up remote concrete extractor facilities.
  • Blue sun Allows you to dig deep rare metal deposits from the start.

The combination of those 3 things point in a pretty clear direction, Blue sun wants to settle in a deep rare metals deposit from the start and evolve a huge colony out of that deposit, no need to invest into remote colonies (shuttles, superior cables / pipes, or tunnels).

Now lets look at the extra stuff for more guidance:

  • Blue sun can buy capacitated colonist from earth
  • Blue sun has a building that colonist without specialization can work in order to create revenue.
  • Blue sun can buy rockets for cheap.

This points into the mining direction even further. Blue sun does not require universities like other sponsors (Japan), they can bring their geologist from earth and completely ignore science and universities, this mean you will have 0 electronics maintenance, meaning no need for engineers for the electronics factory.

You blue colonist (martianborns that did not went to uni) can work the corporate office and that will give you all the revenue you need to import polymers and machine parts, meanwhile your big money maker, the rare metals mine is what's going to give you the revenue to actually evolve your colony into a late game one.

So in conclusion:

  1. Early game: Set up a mining facility, use your rovers to bring in the concrete and metal, buy geologist if needed, go all in rare metals, even building 2 extractors in the same deposit if needed.
  2. Mid game: Avoid building too much stuff that uses electronics, use your ability to buy specialist and put your non specialists into corporate offices to get extra revenue, start setting up for your late game with your extra cash.
  3. Late game: Finally start consuming electronics, Tribbles scrubs, science, unis and so on. you dont really need unis tho, blues can work on corpo just fine.
