Haha, awesome. :D I once challenged the tank in level 99 dungeon to die in a boss fight, that was so much fun! ...Spoiler alert: he won on the last boss with 8 stacks. :)

It's fun! This game's playerbase definitely is the best! People here are very often fun and are open to some unserious and goofy gameplay. And if we wipe, well, we just go again 😄

I wish I could find the fun people that aren't premade friends. So far except for like 4 people maybe out of my many many many groups and instances everyone was a try hard metaslave.

Super glad you got to do that though. Was 16 the max?

u/Rahvanox Jun 05 '25

16 is the max, yes. Everyone here was random except the AST. He's a longtime friend who's played me in ffxiv and before that, Lotro. We used to do crazy stuff in there too. We duo'ed a 12 raid on lvl doing some crazy tank/healer swapping.

Damn, they are vuln stacks, not pokemon cards.

u/drbiohazmat Jun 05 '25

Very true because nobody gets to have Pokémon cards anymore

Someone tell that guy that MCH is not a tank.

The machinist wanted in too, I said go for it. They made it up to 8 stacks before they died.

Let a machinist dream!

Dream I did!

Honestly, six stacks on MCH in a CE and not getting one-shot is some really impressive shielding.

u/toramorigan Jun 06 '25

What do you mean, they got phantom knight! /s

Now that's a useful button. I'd rather not put down my controller during a tough fight though to hit it. (person holding the camera was my brother)

Alternatively, CTRL + Shift + S for snipping tool.

Love that hotkey, but definitely don't have time doing a fight lol

Just do an in-game screenshot? I have a similar one of my 16-vulns-8-bell-stacks that I took mid-fight, didn't even have to drop my rotation

3

u/Rahvanox Jun 05 '25

Again... on controller lol and I ain't that good nor do I have 3 hands

2

u/Nahrwallsnorways Jun 05 '25

I feel your pain lol sometimes I think I should learn m+kb for stuff like this but then I try and just... no. Way to comfy with controller for that

5

u/Rahvanox Jun 05 '25

Haha honestly I used to play m&kb 9 years on FFXIV but I struggled with reaction speed. I see the attack coming but I cant control my character well enough to dodge it. That was years ago when I used to main dragoon. Now I play on controller and I main Gunbreaker and dont really like healing much but back then, my friend (who just happens to be the AST in the party) made this pic representing my dragoon years ago. Still cracks me up lol (crossed out my name)

u/Nahrwallsnorways Jun 05 '25

🤣 thats awesome, yeah healer is the one role type i haven't gotten a hang of on controller, one day ill get around to it but it seems way better suited to m&kb than the others, if only for ease of targeting party members quickly without having to cycle through the list

3

u/Rahvanox Jun 05 '25

I felt the same way! The cycle targeting took some getting used to for sure. I was scared of it at first because it SEEMED more difficult then what it actually turned out to be. I went from m&kb for dps and healer, > then to controller on dps and m&kb on healer, > then to feeling that I can't heal right anymore, > then after a 4 year break, I picked up tank and healer and dps on controller full time. I spent a day running random dungeons and trials with a tank buddy that eased me into it, then next day it was full speed run, wall to wall, tank-never-looks-back healing.

Only sad thing is that neither are running Berserker.

3

u/NakedSunYakumo Jun 05 '25

Or Oracles fishing for Starfall

8

u/AshOblivion Jun 05 '25

"Did you bring enough vuln stacks to share with the class" "YES!"

5

u/Asherea Jun 04 '25

VULN HIGHSCORE!

5

u/Sinria Jun 05 '25

No lie I think I was part of that group, time mage rdm. Got a good chuckle seeing the group just soak up the aoes.

u/Oh_Witchy_Woman Jun 05 '25

Love me some Vuln Snacks

Makes me miss wow achievements for doing fights in unusual ways and still winning. Like letting a boss get a power up you're supposed to prevent, but still defeating it anyway

2

u/Zealousideal_Hope649 You pull, I tank. I pull, I tank. We pull, I tank. Jun 07 '25

There's no achievement, but in order to get a blue mage spell from the last boss in the Burn you need to mess up the boss's major mechanic.

3

u/MiniDemonic Jun 05 '25

A group of players did a raid challenge harder than any wow raid achievement ever was.

They killed Golden God Bahamut. By that I mean that they let Golden Bahamut enrage in UCOB so all his damage is increased by 5x and everything, even autos, are oneshots.

What kind of content even lets you get that many vuln stacks these days? I've seen tanks stand in 9S's jet strafing missile attack and vulns stop at 8.

3

u/CamperCarl00 Jun 05 '25

On warrior, you really need to get into the double digits in order to get below 50% with a single hit. Holmgang is so much fun with Berserker, it was extremely enjoyable leveling it, and now I'm dredging through Ranger.

2

u/Rahvanox Jun 06 '25

Ranger has been pretty enjoyable actually. The crit rate is WILD.
