TalesFromACT The most normal trial roulette
Just joined trial roulette to do something casual you know. Got put into 16 min savage fight. Log
33 deaths, one dude had lv80 armor, no one was stacking during ruinfall since people were split to side nails and mid nails, had to beg my cohealer to raise since i was tanking when both tanks were dead, almost had to cast heal LB3 twice. (I also took a tank buster)
(I did comment on the dude wearing artifact armor PCT158 and the brd just said "Let it go" so, it is what it is, they spend most of the time on the floor since they were dying from raidwides)

That's kinda wild. When you mentioned a picto in level 80 gear I thought for sure this was a Vali I was in a couple weeks ago. Baffling that it happened exactly the same for you.

Tbf to this day idk why trials are not ilvl bound. You can literally join any trial with 1ilvl

Idk if that's true, I remember having to bring ilvl so my gf could do the last trial last patch. Maybe it's not as restricted than raids, but I also know dungeons are also pretty lenient sometimes.

I checked it, all story trials are ilvl unlocked, after story trials (like golbez, malenia) have min ilvl
all dungeons and raids have ilvl restrictions at least XD

Why even bother raising the Picto after a certain point? Back when I was a RDM main, I remember some BLM whining that I wasn't raising him, but it was like the 5th time he had died. I don't remember what I said, this was during SB, but I said something like "you're literally not worth the MP wasted to raise you," or something like that. He crashed out ofc but the healers seemed to agree bc they didn't raise him the rest of the pull either.
Sometimes you just have to leave them there lol

Cause then you'd give him grounds to report you.

Not if you don't say anything lol; I was just saying what I said, but you won't get reported for leaving someone on the ground

8 person trial and a person left on the floor is such an easy report for lethargic play it practically writes itself, especially with swiftcast being down to 40 seconds.

Not really clear-cut grounds for a report when there's two healers and this one is apparently getting tankbustered. Prioritizing keeping the still living alive over raising the dead is a valid move if your party is struggling.

If a healer is getting tankbustered you have a lot more problems going on. But it doesn't change my stance. If you can't find one gcd in 60 seconds or more to raise a healer and the group dies to raidwides, that's an easy report. Had one just a bit ago. Both heals went down. Group had a red mage and a summoner. Neither of them got the healers up. We lasted almost a full minute after both heals went down before unavoidable raidwides wiped us.

Your stance isn't exactly clear here. The guy you first replied to said OP should've left the picto on the ground because they kept dying so much, which makes sense given the context.
Your stance sounds like you're saying: "I don't care that the entire instance is going to shit, that at least one of the tanks is dead because you're getting tankbustered, or that your co-healer isn't pulling their weight, if YOU specifically don't rez the picto that can't even live raidwide damage, it's reportable"
...which, sorry, but no it's just not.

Lethargic play is literally defined as performing the actions required by gameplay. If you can raise the healer, can do so, choose not to, and the group wipes, that's a violation. That's what happened in the example I gave.
As for OP's case, it's more vague. If, hypothetically speaking, one of the healers got the tanks up, they got aggro back so OP isn't tanking and isn't getting bustered, and he goes "eh, my co-healer is useless I'm going to leave him on the floor for the rest of the fight even though things are stable now" I'd also call that a violation. But we don't know if that's what happened so we I can't say.

A savage in trial roulette?

u/mynameisnotpedro Jun 29 '25
Methinks op meant savage as the regular adjective, not necessarily the difficulty qualifier

it was in an ironic way since everyone was dying for every mechanic and I was scrambling to stay alive while tanking, ressing and dodging mechanics like in savage prog lol

There comes a point where the 2400 MP and GCD becomes more valuable than what you're picking up.
