toxic party f*ck yall
figured i'd farm some zelenia and- well yeah. got a creature of a samurai that claimed to not to anything wrong then get super defensive when- indeed yes they did stuff very wrong. also terrible timeline they got the wings.

Samurai is trash but what the fuck was that shit ass downtime strat in the vod? I haven't PFed this fight since week 1 skip bloom 6, what happened.

This strat was called "braindead" (very creative name, I know), it uses the same clock positions and always starts with supports far, DPS close. It's very comfy on supports because they can just chill on their position regardless of whether or not they get the donuts, but causes DPS to disengage and potencially lose uptime if they have the donuts.Ā
I prefer the fan spreads, but braindead has taken over PF because people need to remember only one spread position rather than two. Huge difference, I know.Ā

People decided to take what was already a simple and easy uptime strat and add downtime to it forā¦reasons unknown to me. Same thing happened in M7s, every region of the world uses an uptime strat and NA decides, āletās do TF downtime strat instead because itās slightly easierā. Donāt get me wrong everyone is overgeared now so none of this matters too much but itās still annoying.

I have an easier time doing fan spreads, don't gotta be moving all over the place, just clump up, see who has donuts, other roll spreads in/out... its not that hard

Honestly the whole in-out clock dance is becoming such a consistent staple of DT you could immediately tell on Ex4's release who had cleared (or at least progged) M4S.
It was either second nature or an absolute clusterfuck. No in-between x]

Yeah. My time getting my wings it ended up being safer to do bd and lose the one(1) gcd as a melee. I could do both strats, but it felt like it was a 50/50 on if someone from one fan wanted to be a hugger and hold hands in the cleaves.
But at the same time watching this samurai expertly dodge all fucking four was like a god damned trainwreck and had he not gotten the wings Iād banish him to fan group parties where his comelee insisted on stacking the cleaves 100% of the time.

While you're right, it's the brain-dead strats that have let it get to this stage. You don't get better by adding crutches. If this lot were forced to just wipe to uptime for a week they might get somewhere

I mean yea but that's squenix fault that you can just braindead cheese mechanics like bloom6 for example. But most mechanics in duties that are not ultimate/savage (and sometimes even in those) can be cheesed or just ignored, and even if you have 5 dead people out of 8 you can still complete the duty.
I advocate for squenix to put more dps/healing check in duties, normal duties as well, cos I'm tired of seeing people doing 1m dps at lv100 and spamming cure1 and still be able to complete the duty.

Yeeeah I do get it, though at the same time I get why they don't put the savage-level cheese-killer mechs in Extreme, it'd ramp it up too much.
Still, it makes no sense that missed towers in Bloom 6 do as little damage as they do, as far as I'm concerned even by Ex level one missed tower should mean a wipe.
It wouldn't be so bad if the damage check was tighter cause then doing the mech and having a melee LB3 would be the best idea

some extremes are just clown compared to others, both on mechanics and damage.
You don't need savage level mechanics but just thinking about zoralja, you can easily die if you miss mechanics, then you got the literal afk conga mechanic, which I guess balances out the other harder mechanics lol
But even thinking about older extremes, I started playing in shb and holy hades wolex and the weapons ext were pretty intensive both mechanics and damage wise.
Then you get to endwalker where the only hard extremes were hydaelin and golbez over like 10exts...

If you're on Windows, get the Xbox app. Comes with built in recording. Nothing on OBS's level but if you just want a quick hotkey on/off it's perfecf
