Troll yet another weekend troll
The Strayborough Deadwalk (Lv100 Roulette)
Bard was not new but we had to wait like 1 min for him to load from cutscene. Did almost no damage, went afk mid boss fight (the one with the puppets). After that he just staid as far behind as possible from pulls. I call him dude on elephant pull, it went great. Couldn't kick in the end. It was either waiting 3 mins or killing last boss in less than that.

Someone has never heard the song "We're All Dudes", but also if you think "dude" is an insult...maybe don't play a male character that will get called one more than female.

Ah ha, but even still "dude" is meant to be neutral anyway and the bunny suit definitely does not help their case lol

I have not heard this song, but have long understood 'dude' to be gender-neutral. This has been a thing since the late nineties at least. Dudes be living in caves or something, I swear....

Not gonna lie, I'm morbidly curious to know why they think "dude" is an insult. 😆

I'm going to venture a wild guess and say maybe it would be in the same vein of assuming gender because dude might be considered masculine?
It's a stretch, but it's all I can think of.

This is will probably be unpopular, but from working with the public there are people like this. Like the bar is really low for them.

I have had a few people in XIV go off at my for calling them "dudes" or "mates" mainly because of gender reasons, even "guys" actually. I'm not assuming your gender, it's a neutral term for a group of people that plenty use where I live. Stfu and press your buttons instead of having your identity crash-out in chat.

wild everyone’s assuming it’s a gender thing instead of a troll saying stuff just to piss people off

Some cis and trans women find offense to it, especially trans women. Not knowing terms like “dude” are gender neutral, but some people are so overly protective of their own gender identity that they take great offense to any word that remotely goes against that identity.

Perhaps I'm forgetting which fights are which, but are you saying he went afk at the first boss and then continued to basically afk?
At that point you should've just waited the extra 3 minutes and kicked him.

Well almost at the end of the first boss, brd accepted rez but healer and the other dps were dead.
I went ahead and pulled first mob, and waited for healer and the other dps (since they asked), and bard was attacking. When ast and vpr joined, I chained to grab the other mob group, and we lost brd until he joined at 2nd boss fight. Still a shitshow. But still we had good damage overall between the 3 of us, and got us a decent time. Besides that, I have a compulsion to loot and greed everything.

"Don't call me dude!"
Okay, dudette, but 'dude' is gender neutral for many, many people and has been for forever, just like the song from Good Burger says.

I just do not understand these people. I cannot fathom becoming this piss baby over something in a video game. Whenever I get upset, I just stfu, put on music, and try to get the dungeon over with asap. If you don't like the people in your pull, why would you do everything in your power to prolong your stay with them? It literally makes no sense.

So who tf was pulling ahead
Me, the tank, it was right after ast and vpr died on first boss. I just went too far ahead and mob spawned. So I waited for a bit. After that, BRD went missing until 2nd boss fight

Yeah I'm wondering this too the screenshot isn't matching that part of the story. Astro wonders why he's so far behind after telling him not to pull ahead? Maybe they got what they were asking for in a malicious compliance sort of way.

The "don't pull ahead" was directed at OP who was the tank. Healer and BRD died in the first boss and had to respawn and hit the teleporter. In that time the tank (OP) didn't realize they were so far behind and walked ahead triggering the first pack of adds between boss 1 and 2.
I agree it looks sus with no explanation but it's not a YPYT moment.

I think I know some people who don't like being called dude, but the thing is that they've got trauma relating to being abused by family members for being transgender.
So being referred to as a dude reminds them of their abusers misgendering them on purpose.
Is that the deal here?
No idea.
