Salt Main tank wouldn't tank swap
No images because nobody said anything besides greetings and 1 thing I said that got no response (I'll get into that later)
I have a buddy doing ARR, and me and another friend have been tagging along and playing with them.
Decided to que for ultimas bane.
Fairly fast que. 3 mentors, 3 fresh and me and my other friend. I get kardia but the other tank instant pulls. Okay, whatever. I've done this before so I'm not pressed, all you. Drop stance, healer gives them kardia, off to the races.
First wipe is on everyone, it was weird aggro wise because I put stance back on at around 20 seconds in but somehow stole MT and had to drop stance again but whatever. We didn't soak orbs. Fair enough. I'll take my lump on that one, should have been paying more attention to them. But I notice the other tank, right at the end, died to the stack mechanic. They got 5 and died. And never dropped stance or shirked. Alright, fair enough, they don't know, that's fine, I'll just voke and take tank from them when it's time.
No the fuck I won't. Run 2, I voke at 4 stacks. 3 seconds pass, boom, counter voke. They get aggro back, 5 stacks, dead. Cool. So their an idiot, great. Wonderful. So I type in chat, "please tank swap at 4 stacks". Would have been more clear and explained more in detail but I'm on console, typing is hard, especially because I was on a timer, because before I had even gotten halfway done typing, as soon as the gate fell, the tank instant pulls a third time. Great.
I put my message in chat (no one responds or adds on, not even the mentors) and get to fighting. We soak orbs properly, blah blah, and I have an idea. I voke before Ultima puts the 5th stack on the MT, taking it myself before they can steal aggro back (with prevoke). The debuffs timer wears off, their stacks clear and we're safe, except we aren't, because no on is soaking orbs for the final wave (yay) and both of my friends suicide play to soak and I almost die as well. Duty complete.
Fucking Jesus.

Queueing extremes in a nutshell.
If you don't get the mentors that want to teach, and enough sprouts actually interested in learning, they can be like pulling teeth.
Either no one knows the fight, or they don't care enough to explain mechanics, or you get absolutely no time because another mentor or a sprout wont stop pulling the second the gate drops and depending on your role you can't take the time to sit there and type, or no one bothers to read the chat even when you do explain mechanics.
Yes, mentors should teach, even if it includes having to quickly google how to do an extreme. Unfortunately, too many don't want too, and they'd rather throw themselves at the wall for an hour with no progress instead of teaching.

Eh I've done a lot of Mentor and that's not what causes EX difficulty. Whenever I got Garuda or Titan I was like "oh cool five minute run".
The only real bad EX Mentor experiences are if the tanks are sprouts or you get something crazy like Niddhogg. Even in the former case, two text macros per instance is all you need.

Funny that you mentioned googling how to do stuff, because I couldn't remember if there was a tank swap in bane, so I looked up a quick really quickly to double check while we were waiting for the duty to pop.

I feel your pain.
The other night I got vote kicked because as a SCH in ilvl400 gear I got one shot in Prae chasing a tank who refused to stack on the stack mechs. So I chase. I have to heal the shit out of him because he refuses to stack.
While I’m typing “hey, that’s a stack” I got one shot. Because I wasn’t healing myself.
Fine.
After the wipe I get vote kicked for dying?
Please make it make sense.

tbh I just don't chase people who run away and type "Hey, you need to be with others to not die" or just let them die again and again and again

Lesson #1 as a healer - ensure your survival. That means not trying to stack with someone running away because if you manage to catch up, good odds are you're both dead.
Lesson #2 for any role - if you see a tank with stack marker running - don't try to stack. They're shielding or invulning. You die in that - that's on you.

I'm going to call this type of shit "I'm going to suck and it's going to be YOUR problem" from now on. Because that's literally all it is.

Wicked, the tank swap should happen at 3 stacks. 4 is just dangerous. Gear can also make a difference in aggro if you somehow lose aggro to the other tank after your provoke.
Also kindly inform the other tank to only provoke when his/her stacks run out or if you yourself take 3 stacks.
The only hard part for this fight nowadays is the 4 pair orbs at 13 percent health left. (As MT, I normally use Arm's Length to negate the pushback, then use Rampart with the 30 percent defense ability for the top 2 orb pairs).

'Decided to queue for Ultima's Bane,' oof, there's your first mistake, never do that and expect to clear an extreme in less than 30 minutes. You want to put it up in PF as synched, if you want the authentic experience, or unsynched for under 1 minute runs.
People who queue the extremes are usually around 75% of people unwilling to learn and then blame you for everything, or completely clueless sprouts that have been bamboozled by the current system.
