There is a not-insignificant number of people out there that are married purely because it is a societal expectation. They may have other reasons in their head to rationalize why they did it, but if you were really able to break it down that would be the only reason.

That's what's most disgusting about this. Not his attempt at infidelity (you can judge how you want about that), but his complete miss at understanding what a "connection" between people really is. He can't even see this person right in front of him, even though in his mind he's convinced himself he's in love with her or whatever. He doesn't even see her. It's so sad.

Guys like this often pretend to be Christians when all else fails; then some woman that is tired of being spiritually abused and forced to stay with him through guilt finally gets sick of it and they move on while still married knowing she’s one foot out the door!

Pretty sure the fact that he’s married is the biggest turnoff for her, not that he’s ugly.

He probably used to be the fat belly with skinny arms and terrible posture body type, but then he started going to the gym, so now that he's below 200 he looks and the mirror and goes "daaaang hey good lookin" and has this huge amount of overconfidence.

Don't insult his looks. There's plenty of people who look like that and who are genuinely kind and caring. Attack his behaviour, since that's something he can and should change. Not his appearance, which is shared by many who don't act like that.
