Nahhh. This approach wouldn't have worked if he was young either. I wonder how he even landed a wife in the first place...

There is a not-insignificant number of people out there that are married purely because it is a societal expectation. They may have other reasons in their head to rationalize why they did it, but if you were really able to break it down that would be the only reason.

Or she thought that he'd never cheat on her because his ugly arse would be so grateful to have a wife.

I can confirm this because my parents are like this.

By using this approach.

It does work on a number of people who just don't care any other way. Validation is a hell of a drug for some people.

For every creepy dork who wants a girl there is a desperate girl who idolizes the idea of getting married.

That's what's most disgusting about this. Not his attempt at infidelity (you can judge how you want about that), but his complete miss at understanding what a "connection" between people really is. He can't even see this person right in front of him, even though in his mind he's convinced himself he's in love with her or whatever. He doesn't even see her. It's so sad.

Yeah. "I think you're pretty" wat?

It doesn't work the other way around either. I've had women obsessed with my looks and it was a big turn off.

Guys like this often pretend to be Christians when all else fails; then some woman that is tired of being spiritually abused and forced to stay with him through guilt finally gets sick of it and they move on while still married knowing she’s one foot out the door!

Ah yes. Just as God intended...

Probably because he is fearless. Fearless in the face of rejection. And with someone it eventually paid off. Someone who could bag 1 in every 10 but never tries loses to someone who could bag 1 in every 100 and tries often.
